MFA Creative Writing: Poetry Thesis

Collection of poems written 2007-2010.

This thesis is a book-length work of poetry entitled "Carload." It represents three years of work in the Creative Writing department at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.

Untitled is a novel-in-progress, a series of tales about pie eating, botched marriages, the illegal dog trade, celebrity, Civil War reenacting, and high and low art. All of the characters ultimately collide as they break out of or under the weight of their respective worlds.

"Nightfall" is a collection of stories and an uncompleted novel focusing on post-apocalyptic cultural studies.

This thesis includes two short stories, titled "Electricity" and "The Dive Bar, 9:30pm Wednesday," and a novel in progress, titled "Strange Skies."

These poems were written between August, 2011 and April, 2014.
