Sociální služby pro osoby s autismem / Social Services for People with Autism

DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
Abstract Social services for people with autism This diploma thesis is focused on the issues of social services for people with autism. I have concentrated my research on people looking after the people with autism. In the theoretical part I deal with the explanation of the term autism, division of autism, I describe specific work with people with autism, some kinds of therapies, social services for people with autism and some organizations working with people with autism. In the practical part of the work there are written and evaluated interviews with the respondents. Collecting information was done by the qualitative form, via the method of asking. As the method of colleticting data the half-standarised interview was used. The group for the research was formed by the people looking after the people with autism. I spoke with eight caretakers in total, they were always parents of the children with autism. The choice was done by the method of snowball. Each interview was elaborated into eight case studies. The results of the interviews were transformed into tables and summerized in a discussion. The aim of the diploma thesis was to map possibilities of social services for people with autism and if they have possibility to use these services. Other aim was to find out which services are used the most by these people and if they suit them. Then I investigated if these services are accessible financially, by quantity and quality and if they copy the requirements of a family and individual needs of the people with autism. The interviews with the respondents show that the families living in Prague have the possibility to use social services for the people with autism. The respondents living in smaller towns have more difficult access to these services and very often they do not have the possibility of any choice. This work could contribute to quality improvement of providing social services to the people with autism. In my opinion, it is necessary to educate non-professional and professional public in this issue. This is the way to provide better services reflecting the needs of the people with autism. Key words: autism, social services, social relations, communication

Historická sociologie autismu v České republice / Historical Sociology of Autism in the Czech Republic

Geisler, Michal January 2018 (has links)
This dissertation focuses on the development of autism in the Czech Republic from an historical-sociological perspective. The study pursues the structural processes related to autism and their impacts on individuals, as well as the roles of various agents in the shaping of these processes. The study utilises the social constructivist approach as well as the standpoints of the interpretative stream of sociology. The concept of autism was introduced in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. It was understood as a rare psychiatric disorder and was known about by only a few professionals. Until the beginning of the 1990s, autism wasn't recognised in Czechoslovak society. Since the beginning of the 1990s new processes have emerged, resulting in the formation of a paradigm of autism - a new dominant and increasingly recognized system of values, methods, approaches and institutions, all connected to the concept of autism. The category of autism was reconceptualized in the 1990s and has started to be used more widely in Czech society. Based on the concept of autism, new institutions have emerged, such as specialized educational approaches and services, therapeutic methods, social services and NGOs etc. Discourses of autism have also started to form. This paradigm has been crucial for the social history of autism...

Padevětová, Barbora January 2020 (has links)

The theoretic part begins with the chapter introducing the problematics where one shall find the definition, specific types of the ASDs, the diagnostics and the reaction of the family to the diagnosis. The second chapter describes specific integration ways which could help with the social integration of an ASD child. I refer to certain obstacles that may come up during their integration. Afterward, I move onto the methods and services helpful in the matter of more effective education of the child and getting to know its own surroundings. The third chapter continues with the topic of the prior one. It is dealing with the education possibilities for these children in the Czech Republic, the way the helping services have been established and how are they functioning nowadays. The last chapter is talking about society itself. Kompenzační mechanismy jedinců s mírnější formou poruch autistického spektra v souvislosti s genderovými charakteristikami / Compensatory mechanisms in individuals with lighter forms of autistic spectre disorder in relation to gender characteristics

Semrád, Martin January 2019 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with compensatory mechanisms used by people with a lighter form of autism spectrum disorder (shortly ASD) in social situations. In terms of ASD, compensatory mechanisms are labeled as camouflage, because they hide symptoms of autism. Camouflage can, according to research results, complicate the diagnostic process and lead to ASD not being recognized, especially in women. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the description of today's understanding of ASD. It shows information about the diagnostic process and the symptomatics od ASD. It also describes the differences in the severity of ASD and the different symptoms of autism in men and women. The last chapter is concerned with the issue of compensatory mechanisms and camouglage in people with ASD. The empirical part of this thesis includes a quantitative research that explored the level of camouflage in 170 respondents using a translated version of CAT-Q (Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire), that was distributed online. The results show a higher level of camouflage in people with a mild form of ASD, compared to people without ASD. The research also shows that the level of camouflage in people with ASD is higher in female respondents than in male respondents. The research found a positive correlation...

Efektivita vybraných nekonvenčních rehabilitačních postupů u pacientů s poruchou autistického spektra / The effectiveness of chosen unconventional rehabilitation methods in Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Ikonomi, Krist January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the science' state of unconventional physical therapies, such as yoga therapy (YT) and equine-assisted therapy (EAT), in the treatment of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children and young adolescents. The aim of this systematic review is to highlight the effects of unconventional physiotherapy in autism. Data from 12 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were retrieved and analyzed to help with the making of this review. Physical, cognitive and social functions were measured in approximately 530 children and adolescents with autism, always partaking in either case or control group. Results indicate that the above mentioned therapies have an overall positive impact in the treatment of autism by reducing the stereotypical behaviors and increasing the cognitive and social functions. Participants vary from 4 to 16 years of age. There is still a gap of knowledge when it comes to all the direct effects and action mechanisms of such therapies in the lives of these children. Therefore a lot of space for further studies is present and also recommended. Future RCTs are needed to better refine treatment choices, in order to come up with new and better ways of dealing with such disorder. Keywords: physiotherapy; yoga therapy; horse riding therapy;...
