The experiment was conducted in field conditions, in an area belonging to the Department of Vegetable Production - UNESP, Campus of Botucatu/SP. The experimental delineamento was in blocks entirely casualizados, with five treatments and five repetitions, which consisted of five levels of manuring potássica (0, 200, 400, 600 and 800 g K20 plant-1). The obtained data were submitted to the variance analysis and the averages of the analyzed variables compared by the test of Tukey, to 5% of probability. Soon afterwards regression curves were adjusted, relating potassium doses and the variables answers. The obtained results indicate that the potassium application during the first cycle of the culture, didn't provide significant increases in the production variables and income of the culture, except for the diameter and medium length of the fruit. For the second cycle the fertirrigação promoted significant increases in the weight of the fruit, weight of the bunch, number of fruits for cluster, number of fruits for bunch, length and diameter of the fruit. The productivity of the cv 'Prata anã' it varied from 13,32 to 30,36 t ha-1 on the second year and the productivity of the cv 'Maçã' in the first year it varied from 14,98 to 18,31 t ha-1. It was evaluated, also, the behavior of the potassium in the soil, where it can verify that the banana trees in two cultivation cycles reduced the tenors of exchangeable K of the soil.

Abstract: The objective of this research was it of studying the effect of doses crescent of applied potassium saw irrigation water in the cultures of banana trees cv 'Prata anã' and 'Maçã'.
