Passa-se, portanto, por um processo de análise crítica, que visa entender a representatividade alcançada pelo movimento e a sua relação com a forma como este foi enfocado em pesquisas e manifestações artísticas. A partir da compreensão dessas influências, torna-se viável avaliar as necessidades de novos estudos e demonstrar em quais instâncias as possibilidades de renovação da historiografia sobre o Cangaço se tornam palpáveis. Para alcançar tal objetivo, utilizam-se as fotografias existentes sobre o movimento e ressaltam-se particularidades e questões geralmente excluídas nos estudos sobre o tema. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research concerns the different opinions about Cangaço and the participation of several types of works, from scholar to communal, in the shaping of those prospects. Therefore, this idea is developed through a process of critical analyses, which is aimed to understand the representativeness Cangaço has achieved and its connection with the way it was thought in different kinds of productions. The comprehension of those influences enables to evaluate the necessity of new studies and also to show in which ways it is possible to renew the historiography about Cangaço. In the pursuit of these goals, there is a viability to analyse the existing photos about the social movement and see the features usually omitted in most researches.
