Neubauerová, Dana January 2011 (has links)

It is necessary to take into account the context and the currenet law in force at 1. 1. 2012. Therefore it is necessary to find a compromise between employee's demands and objectives of employers. The partical part summarizes the findings from previous theoretical work parts into a complex example, where creative approaches are demonstrated which in real life are used in rewarding of employees.

Utilização do modelo de insumo-produto de Leontief para determinação de alguns benefícios indiretos resultantes da construção e da manutenção de obras de infra-estrutura de transporte / Using Leontief\'s input-output model to measure some indirect benefits generated as a consequence of investiment in construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure facilities

José Thomaz Mendes Filho 28 November 1995 (has links)
At this work, the national static open Leontief\'s input-output model is used in order to measure some indirect benefits generated as a consequence of investment in construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure facilities. These benefits are generated by an increase in production, once there is always a part of the production of goods and services which implies on a growth of wealth for the region into which the investment is applied. It is shown that this increase of wealth has to be taken in to account as an additional indirect benefit, and that searching for identification of the magnitude of that value added into the economy could make the difference among several investment alternatives. It is suggested that the results of that measurement could be considered in more flexible evaluation methods, such as multi-objectives and multi-criteria methods.

Assessing the influence of external environment factors on higher education sector through means-end theory of decision making : the case of Bahrain

Ali Mohamed Mahmood January 2018 (has links)
Higher education domain has a direct impact on individuals and society in general and particularly regarding the socio-economic status and economic growth of any individual or a country. Despite recent changes in job market orientation for hiring employees without higher education degrees, higher education sector is required globally to provide training, knowledge and skill to achieve the globally stated goal of attaining economic growth and sustainable human development. This research focuses on the importance of higher education to primary beneficiaries (student, parents, and higher education institutions personals), explores defined goal of higher education, and assess the effect of external environmental factors that influence higher education sector sampling Bahrain public higher education in a single case study. Through an exploratory qualitative research, the researcher used a case study approach with semi-structured interviews to assess different beneficiaries' views of the importance of higher education to bridge the gap between different perspectives on shaping the goal of higher education. An abductive approach was followed to conduct this research as this topic requires both observing the research topic as well as qualifying an established theory. This approach allowed the researcher to gain new insights to understand the relationship between the environmental factors and higher education goal. The research assesses the factors influencing higher education to be utilised as moderator to develop a conceptual framework based on Means-end theory of decision-making combined with the dynamics of OODA Loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act) model of decision-making. Key findings of the pilot study conducted in one of Bahrain's public higher education institutions (HEIs) and another case study on one of the leading higher education institutions in Bahrain revealed a gap between higher education beneficiaries' perspectives on higher education and demonstrated the importance of the revision of the overall structure and implementation of policies concerning higher education sector in Bahrain. Empirical findings highlighted some main areas where there is a huge gap between what is planned and implemented. Through comparing results of previous studies, the researcher concluded that each environment has its own effect on higher education goal definition which in turn affect the attainment of higher education benefits and the definition of its attributes.

Johnson, Kristi Louise 01 March 2016 (has links)
Numerous studies have demonstrated the benefits peer tutoring provides to the tutee. However, studies measuring the benefits peer tutoring provides to the tutor are limited in quantity, detail, participant numbers and breadth. This study measured the benefits 151 peer tutors reported after peer tutoring for a semester in a special education class for students with severe disabilities. Peer tutors reported benefits in an essay response to the prompt: "What do you feel you have gained as a result of being a peer tutor?" The study identified the most common benefits obtained by peer tutors as measured by peer tutor generated responses of general peer-tutoring benefits. Findings suggest an extension of peer-tutoring benefits beyond the tutee exclusively and to the peer tutor.

Periodontal treatment needs in a Medicaid expansion population

Sukalski, Jennifer Michelle Cecelia 01 May 2017 (has links)
Objective: To investigate and determine periodontal treatment needs by the use of the Community Periodontal Index of Treatment Needs (CPITN) of a Medicaid expansion population in the state of Iowa (DWP) in comparison with patients insured by the traditional Medicaid State Plan, patients with private dental insurance, and self-pay patients, while evaluating for systemic health conditions and socio-behavioral factors. Methods: A secondary data analysis of electronic health records (EHR) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry was completed and analyzed. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted. Logistic regression models were used to analyze relationships between predictors and periodontal treatment need. Results: Out of the study population, 54% were indicated for scaling and root planing (SRP). Predictors of indicating the need for SRP treatment were found to be: Age (p< .0001), gender (p< .0001), medical diagnosis of diabetes (p=.031), smoking status (p< .0001), and not receiving regular dental check-ups (p< .0001). Discussion: Our findings are consistent with common periodontal disease predictors found in the literature. Interestingly, insurance status was not a significantly associated predictor of periodontal treatment needs. However, approximately 50% patients with all insurance types were indicated for SRP. Implications: DWP patients must earn benefits by maintaining dental appointments. This earned benefits approach delays periodontal treatment as patients must earn this procedure, potentially leading to deteriorating periodontal health. Further assessment of periodontal burden in the DWP population should be conducted and potential program structure evaluated.
