Sabater Jara, Ana Belén 21 June 2013 (has links)
Study of defense responses induced by elicitors in plant cell cultures In this work, Capsicum sp, Daucus carota and Taxus x media cell cultures under elicitation with cyclodextrins and methyl jasmonato hve been used as cell biofactories for the production of terpenoid secondary metabolites, which are important not only in plant defense, but also as important natural resource for obtaining drugs and food additives, as well as potential nutraceutical and cosmetic ingredients. On the other hand, we have also used elicitation as a tool for studying extracellular proteome in C. annuum, C. chinense and D. carota cell cultures in order to determine induced defense responses as well as the expression profile of genes encoding enzymes involved in the biosynthesis pathway of taxanes with the aim of finding the bottle-neck steps in taxane biosynthesis.
