The problems of Alzheimer's disease represent socially serious and very important subject at present due to the fact that our generation is growing old, which will obviously result in increasing frequency of Alzheimer?s disease occurrence. This diploma work is divided in two parts: theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part there are causes, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and therapy of Alzheimer?s disease. Furthermore there is a conceptual framework of nursing care applied to the patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease according to nursing model by Virginia Henderson. In addition to it burn out syndrome is mentioned here because due to the syndrome the nursing personnel is exposed to extreme psychic and physical load. The Alzheimer Programme Plan in the Czech Republic is presented in order to get better idea about activities in our country. In the practical part of this diploma work we laid down the following three objectives. The first objective was to ascertain exacting character of nursing work of the nurses taking care of the patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease. The second objective was to ascertain what is considered by nurses to be the most problematic area within the range of nursing care of the aforementioned patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease and the third objective of our research was to ascertain the contribution of specialised Alzheimer centres. The above-specified objectives have been fulfilled. In addition to it another research questions have been defined as follows: what is the level of exacting character of nursing work of the nurses taking care of the patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease, what do the nurses see as the most problematic area within the range of nursing care of the aforementioned patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease within the range of nursing care, what is the contribution of specialised Alzheimer centres and what nursing care should be provided in the specialised Alzheimer centres. The research questions have been answered. For the purpose of the development of this diploma work a qualitative examination has been used. Data acquisition and collection have been performed by applying the method of non-standard structured interview. The research work took place in Psychiatric Ward of the Hospital of České Budějovice a.s. (Joint stock company), in Alzheimer Centre named Loucký Mlýn near the town of Vodňany and in Alzheimer Centre in the town of Písek, and in Home of Old People in the village of Dobrá Voda. The answers of the interviewed nurses have been worked out in the form of sixteen case reports and subsequently category matrices (tables) containing the most important data were created from the aforementioned reports. The examination took place in the time period from March 2011 to June 2011. The results of our work could serve as a feedback for hospitals and sanatoria first of all for those where the examinations took place. Furthermore the results may be used for keeping public informed about the possibilities of helping patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease e.g. in the form of information booklet.

Význam supervize pro zdravotnické pracovníky v lůžkových zařízeních / Importance of Supervision for Health care professionals in Inpatient Hospitals.

CIKLEROVÁ, Monika January 2013 (has links)
Abstract The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on health care issues related to the work of health care professionals in the context of a current legislation. In this part the work of health care professionals is linked to the ethical principles and pressures on the emotional, mental, physical and social levels. The work focuses on the possible symptoms of exhaustion and fatigue on these levels. The emphasis is put on a personal development and coping with emotions so the health care professional is able to provide his or her clients and patients with relevant support. Supervision also develops its potential as a system of control and improving the quality of the provided care. It also helps to achieve the necessary health care quality standards in all respects. This system of a complex support and care for an individual worker as well as team of professionals is rooted predominantly in the development of psychotherapy. In its empirical part this thesis deals with the reasons which prevent supervision to be fully accepted and generally adopted as a system of support for health care professionals. The research in the Regional Hospital in Příbram tries to find and identify possible barriers to the development of supervision and thus contribute to greater interest in its implementation. According to the research findings the main barriers involve inadequate experience and awareness of senior professionals about possibilities and purpose of supervision, their concerns about high financial expenses, the need to devote extra time to this method and last but not least the necessity to study and apply a large amount of professional methods and information to work. The last two mentioned criterions also reduce space which could health care professionals otherwise use for meeting their own needs and self -care. In terms of conditions supervision in health care institution would have to meet, the thesis comes to a conclusion that the possible supervisor should be well-informed about health care sector or experienced in own medical practice. In this respect he or she would be authentic and trustworthy for the supervised health care staff. This thesis also finds out that hospital management strongly supports supervision but so far has not recorded any interest in its implementation among the employees. However, findings of the survey aimed at health care professionals from the selected hospital departments show that more than 50% of respondents regard supervision in health care as needed. The specific need of support for health care professionals is found predominantly in inadequate recognition and appreciation of their work and in the feeling that their work does not bring them joy. In this respect the respondents to a large extent described somatic problems such as frequent headaches, difficulties in digestion and breathing and sleep disorders. According to the research there are good conditions for implementation supervision in a health care institution. However, first it is necessary to ensure that both hospital management and health care professionals are provided with good and sufficient information. The goal of this thesis is to support implementation of supervision among health care professionals in inpatient wards. It is intended for the health care professionals as well as for hospital management. Its aim is to promote the idea that only a person who is healthy, self confident and meets his/her own needs is able to cure well and help others.

Změny v přístupu k výuce u učitelů v době pandemie COVID-19 / Changes in teachers' attitude towards the education process during the COVID-19 pandemic

Petrovická, Barbora January 2022 (has links)
Our work is focused on the period of the global COVID-19 pandemic at its beginning, specifically in the spring and autumn of 2020. It particularly features the area of Czech educational system. We aim to reflect how the pandemic and the closely related distance education in schools affected teachers' attitude towards the education process and also their mental health. In the theoretical part we aspire to define basic terms, such as the teacher's personality, professional growth, motivation, stress, burn-out syndrome and mental hygiene. In addition, we offer an explanation of the process of distance education. The empirical part was realized via semi-structured interviews with teachers of theoretical subjects on vocational schools who were involved in the educational process during the time when it was forced to be led online. The most troublesome issues were the following: the teachers' inadequate technical skills and low self-confidence related to those, but also the minimal support from the schools' management regarding both the training in usage of on-line tools and the need of care of students', school employees' and parents' mental health. KEYWORDS personality, professional growth, motivation, mental hygiene, burn-out syndrome, COVID-19 pandemic, distance education

Stresová zátěž u začínajících učitelů a jejich copingové strategie / Stress load in beginner teachers and their coping strategies

Budil, Jan January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis is aimed at the issue of stress load in beginner teachers and at the ways they cope with it. The theoretical part amasses and elaborates on the information available in literature and presents the results of research endeavours dealing with the topic. As a follow-up of the theoretical part, the research part constitutes the second major portion of the paper. It is carried out in the way of an explorative research which aims at the deeper examination of the topic, at providing both professional and non-professional persons with useful information, at the formulation of new hypotheses and at the directing of future research efforts in the right way. The aforementioned aim is identical with the aim of the entire thesis as well. Based on the aim, the research itself is divided into two constitutive parts, where each presents the reader with certain kinds of information. The first part uses descriptive statistics to summarize the data amassed by the quantitative method of a questionnaire survey, whereas the second part makes use of the methods of inferential statistics in order to analyse said data and draw a comparison of two different subsets of the sample involved. At the end of the diploma thesis, results of the research are presented and used to draw a conclusion about the topic,...

Stresbelewing en -hantering by onderwysers

Van den Berg, Reinette 30 November 2003 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / This study ascertains the extent of the experience of stress and the nature of stress management by educators. The literature showed that stress is defined from various theoretical perspectives; various approaches to stress management exist; and educators manage stress in various ways. This study defines stress from a cognitive-transactional perspective. A qualitative research method was used, descriptive data were generated by focus groups and inductively analysed. The results show that educators experienced stress ( much as seen in the literature) due to organisational, management and personal factors. According to this research, educators experience stress on the physical, emotional, social and intellectual levels. Educators' efforts to deal with stress reflect direct techniques such as seeking personal support and using confrontational techniques, as well as indirect techniques which encompass intellectual and physical techniques. Finally the development of a stress management program for educators is recommended. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Guidance and Counselling)

Pracovník v nízkoprahových službách / Social worker in youth drop-in centres / services

Jandová, Martina Ania January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Social worker in youth drop-in centres / services" in the theoretical part delineates borders of the field ,,drop-in service" and describes the importance of contact workers in terms of reaching the true sense of the youth drop-in service. In the practical part it answers the research question: "Which positive and negative factors influence motivation for remaining in this field?" The answer has been found using open coding analytical tool of the Strauss and Corbin's Grounded Theory in responses of (the representative sample of) ten social workers, which have been active in youth drop-in service longer than two years. The important output from the practical part of the diploma thesis is the finding that there are many motivation factors, which can be influenced by social workers themselves or by their direct and/or indirect superiors. Final part of the diploma thesis presents the list of factors. They are classified from the point of view "we can/cannot do something with it". There is also recommendation for supporting the motivation of the social workers to remain in the youth drop-in services, especially by weakening negative factors and strengthening the positive ones.
