BI jako služba / BI as a service

Musil, Martin January 2011 (has links)
The main objective of the thesis is to present SaaS business intelligence as a set of concepts and methods aimed at improvement of business decision making process based on Software as a Service model. To understand this, it's important to describe first general principles, on which are based conventional so-called on-premises solutions and the means how they work. It's also necessary to present Software as a Service as today's very popular software deployment model. Further objective is the description of these solutions, introduction of their strengths, weaknesses and guidelines how to choose a suitable service provider. Final objective of the thesis is to compare these two different methods of BI tools deployment, in that case on-premises and on-demand and to sketch out means, following them will be possible to decide for one of the methods.

Det oanvända verktyget SAP BI / The unused tool SAP BI

Bratt, Dennis January 2017 (has links)

Vytvoření BI procesu dávky pro sdružení SOLUS v retailové bance / Creation of BI batch process for SOLUS in the retail bank

Fara, Miroslav January 2012 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the batch processing of bank (retail bank) client data for SOLUS. The main goal of the thesis is to create a batch process that will generate files (monthly report) about clients of one of the bank companies operating in the Czech market (retail banks), according to requirements pre-defined by SOLUS. This will be achieved by analyzing the requirements, designing the pilot solution, and by creating and implementing the batch process for SOLUS. The main contribution of this thesis is a working BI process which will store the data in the required format to the data warehouse. By implementing this process the retail bank can use the data from the register that have been saved to this place by other member organizations which participate in creating SOLUS. The data analysis from the registry can help the retail banks to get detailed information about clients applying for products of the respective bank and will facilitate the decision making during the approval process. The solution of batch report generation for SOLUS has been created by using the tools MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Studio, MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Business Intelligence Development Studio, and MS Excel 2010. In this project the data from internal databases of retail bank are analyzed. In order to comply with the rules for information security and data sensitivity, it is not possible to use a large amount of information from internal databases for the purposes of this thesis, but it is possible to clearly demonstrate the functioning of the whole process.

Learning by the use of Business Intelligence   : A case study made from an Organizational Behaviour Management perspective

Nordén, Mikaela January 2012 (has links)
Researchers claim that to improve business and really make an impact on the market it is critical to develop organizational capabilities and create organizational learning. Business Intelligence (BI) has during the latest years gained lots of attention among organizations for being a tool that can help improve the business. However, even though organizational learning is critical at the same time as BI has become a main tool to improve the business the linkage between these two concepts has not been a topic for research. This thesis is taking an Organizational Behaviour Management (OBM) perspective when analyzing whether BI-tools create the right conditions for learning. A case study was made at Skanska Sverige AB where their three largest BI-tools were analyzed. The study was made in three steps; by an individual analysis of the tools, a questionnaire sent to all operational managers who uses the tools and by interviews with nine of these managers. The analysis of the tools indicated that the BI-tools at Skanska Sverige AB do not currently create the right conditions for learning. Few actions are taken because of the information in the tools.

Organisering av informationsflödet i kommunsamordningscentralen (KSC) : En studie kring informationsflödet mellan fyra kommuner i Skaraborg och ledningen i kommunsamordningscentralen / Organizing the information flow in the Municipality Coordination Centre : A study about the information flow between four municipalities in Skaraborg and the Municipality Coordination Centre

Tillakoy, Savå January 2016 (has links)

Koucký, Jiří January 2009 (has links)
Corporate Performance Management (CPM) is a broad concept focused on managing performance of companies and is related to information technologies like Business Intelligence (BI). CPM and its associated technologies are currently one of the most tracked areas in the field of business informatics. The reason is the growing market competition, globalization, the dynamic changes on the market and the growing need for companies to effectively manage their performance. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to familiarize readers with this concept, with its components and link to business informatics. The work focuses on a specific area of CPM, which is monitoring and analysis, i.e. dashboarding. In the thesis there is analyzed monitoring and analytical functionality of the software Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 (PPS). Furthermore, there are identified dashboard and scorecard concepts and analyzed the characteristics and categorization of dashboards. There are various best-practices approaches to deployment of dashboarding into business. In the thesis there are mentioned some of these practices and basic rules for proper dashboard design. At the end of the theoretical part of the thesis there are evaluated the world's leading suppliers of CPM solutions. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is design and documentation of CPM dashboarding solution based on the real business data of the company that provides consulting services and develops BI software. The solution is designed in the PPS software and its purpose is to support the company's management in terms of monitoring the effectiveness of internal and external projects and business activities of the company. The solution is not a definitive CPM solution, but a step by the company to reveal possible weaknesses in the organization and encourage efforts to develop its own holistic CPM solution.

Factors That Drive the Selection of Business Intelligence Tools in South African Financial Services Providers

Gina, Bonginkosi Phila 10 August 2021 (has links)
Innovation and technology advancements in information systems (IS) result in multiple product offerings and business intelligence (BI) software tools in the market to implement business intelligence systems (BIS). As a result, a high proportion of organisations fail to employ appropriate and suitable software tools meeting organisational needs, resulting in a prime number of BI solution failures and abandoned projects are therefore recorded. Due to such project failures, benefits associated with BI are not realised hence organisations loose enormous investments on BI solutions and competitive advantage. The study aims at discovering and exploring critical factors influencing the selection of BI tools when embarking on the selection process. This is a quantitative research study and questionnaire surveyed data was collected from 92 participants working in South African financial services providers listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) appearing in the top 100 based on market capitalization. The data was analysed quantitative by employing the use of SPSS and SmartPLS-3 software's to test the significance of influential factors using the proposed conceptual model that emerged from the literature. The findings showed that a combination of domain technical and non-technical factors is critical. Therefore, software tool technical factors (functionality, ease of use, compatibility, availability of an integrated hardware/software package, and availability of source code), vendor technical factors (availability of technical support, technical skills, quality of product, availability of user manual for important information, tutorial for learning and troubleshooting guide, and experience in using product developed by the same vendor), and opinion non-technical factors (end-users, subordinates, outside personnel acquaintances, and improvement in customer service) emerged as significant combination of influential factors to be considered. The study contributes to both academia and industry by providing influential determinants for software tool selection. It is hoped that the findings presented will contribute to a greater understanding of factors influencing the selection of BI tools to researchers and practitioners alike. Furthermore, organisations seeking to select and deliver appropriate BI tools will be better equipped to drive such endeavours.
