Michael Scot remains an under-studied figure of the early thirteenth century, in particular with regard to his main original work, the Liber introductorius. This work has never been comprehensively edited, although several partial editions do exist. Scot's translations have received scholarly attention and their importance has been recognized, however, his original work has received a fairly negative assessment from scholars. A close look at one section of the Liber introductorius (Liber quattuor distinctionum, third distinction, CLM fols. 118rb-120ra), although it does conform to what scholars have found in other sections of Scot's work, offers another avenue of study; namely, the social historical aspects of astrology and astrologers in the early thirteenth century. Through his practical instructions to fledgling astrologers in matters such as their house, comportment, and dealings with customers, Scot provides us with a window into the social world of the astrologers of his time.

To penetrate emerging markets is of great interest to any international organisation. The situation gets more intense if it is in the field of telecommunications. Telecommunications (telecoms) and information technology (IT) are generically known as the information and communication technologies (ICT) industries. Extraordinary or unethical business policies can not only affect the business of other organisations, but also has some after-effects on societies and the mindset of target nations and market ethics. Organisations are very much engaged with society and work in the social environment, therefore the socio-cultural components is of great importance when designing business strategies. Exploring the facts about emerging markets and by analysing the case of Chinese company Huawei in the Pakistani telecom market, this thesis gives investigates and assess the success factor of this Chinese company. This thesis highlights the upheaval factors of emerging markets, by analysing the role of cultural interests and the mindsets of target nations for organisations planning their strategies

It is the aim and purpose of this thesis to show that electricity in the modern theatre is a useful and necessary commodity. Also that the effects gained through the development of electrical equipment add to the effectiveness of plays as produced by the modern theatre. It is desired to show that electrical current will continue to be used in the stage lighting of the future although the present method used may become obsolete.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the speeches of three representative modern women orators and in analyzing the speeches of these women to draw certain conclusions regarding women's oratory. I have chosen the speeches of Judge Florence E. Allen, Ruth Bryan Owen, and Mabel Walker Willebrandt. These women are well known for their ability as successful public speakers and they are listed as "good speakers" in the Who's Who of Women Orators in America.
