Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico / Este trabalho analisa questÃes em torno do uso da imprensa, do jornal, como ponto de pauta da polÃtica partidÃria cearense, na segunda metade do sÃculo XIX, encaminhadas pelos jornalistas, tipÃgrafos, impressores e (e)leitores (em especial, leitores correligionÃrios qualificados como eleitores, segundo reforma eleitoral de 1881) do ÃrgÃo liberal Cearense (1846-1891) e dos periÃdicos Pedro II (1840-1889) e ConstituiÃÃo (1863-1889), ambos conservadores. A arena jornalÃstica composta por esses sujeitos colocou, em discussÃo, a intensidade do ideal partidÃrio associado ao jornalÃstico, principalmente nas campanhas eleitorais para presidente da provÃncia, nos momentos em que: os tipÃgrafos repensaram o seu papel polÃtico e intelectual, diante da iminÃncia de serem excluÃdos de votar e, assim, usaram os jornais para os quais trabalhavam como estratÃgia de reivindicaÃÃo, e quando os (e)leitores nÃo confessavam claramente suas paixÃes partidÃrias ou de outra ordem. Para tanto, foram utilizados como fontes principais os jornais jà citados, artigos das revistas do Instituto do CearÃ, da Academia Cearense de Letras e do Instituto HistÃrico e GeogrÃfico Brasileiro, alÃm de Almanaques, documentos diversos pertencentes ao acervo do Arquivo PÃblico do Estado do Cearà e da Biblioteca PÃblica Governador Menezes Pimentel/Ce, obras raras da historiografia cearense, entre outros materiais documentais e bibliogrÃficos de referÃncia teÃrica e metodolÃgica. / This work analises questions concerning the use of the press, such as newspapers as a start of a talking point about the politics of the political parties of CearÃ, in the second half of the 19th Century. It was led by journalists an press people as well as readers (specially readers qualified as voters, as the voterâs reforms of 1881) of the liberal organ of Cearense (1846-1891) and of the papers Pedro II (1840-1881) and the Constituituon (1863-1889), both conservative. The journalistic arena formed by these people was set in discussions the intensity of the ideals of the political parties assossiated to the press, specially in the province in those moments that the press people rethink their political roles as intelectual, because of the imminence of being excluded from voting, and thus, they used the newspapers to which they worked as a strategy of claiming, and when the voters did not confess clearly their political ideals or of any other orders. It was used therefore the newspapers from this area, and articles of newspapers of the CearÃâs Institute and from the Lyrics Academy from Cearà and from the Historic and Geographic Institute from Brazil, besides comics, ad diverse documents that belongs to the files of the Public Files from Cearà and from the Public Library Governador Menezes Pimentel/Ce, as well as rarities from the history of CearÃ, as well as other documents and bibliography of theoric and methodologic references.
