Jan Štern: Život a dílo v období komunismu i po jeho pádu / Jan Štern: His life and Work In and After the Communist EraKrejčíková, Žaneta January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis studies the life story of czech journalist Jan Štern and analyzes his articles in the magazine "Listy", which was illegal in the former Czechoslovakia until the end of 1989. The main goal is, in addition to the description of Štern's life when he went through the concentration camp, the Prague Uprising and the revolution against the communist regime, to find answers of research questions: "Do the texts encourage the reader to do something specific, if so, to what?", "What is the nature of the texts: descriptive, entertaining, contemplative, reviewing or dictating?" and "What is the focus of the texts, are they of a purely political nature?". The evaluation was based on a combined content analysis of 62 articles from the 70s and 90s of the 20th century and the results show that 74 % of the texts do not contain a direct call or persuasion, 79 % of articles can be described as a contemplation or combination of contemplation and description and every arcticle responds to a political issue. The whole work ends with a conclusion, a list of used sources, theses, a list of appendices, bibliography of used articles from the magazine "Listy" and transcription of interview with Anna Šabatová.

Proměny francouzské jazykové politiky ve vztahu k regionálním jazykům / Changes in the French language policy in relation to regional languagesMiškovská, Veronika January 2012 (has links)
This thesis treats the subject of French language policy for regional languages. Even though the position of French as the only official language of French state is undeniable the question of regional languages and its support is still a topical problem of French society. The evolution of French language policy for regional languages is the main subject of this thesis as well as all elements that have been influencing it. One part of this language policy is the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, which France signed in 1999 but remains unratified. Despite the flexibility of commitments deriving from the Charter ratification of this document remains to be seen as a menace for the roots of the French republic . Therefore France can't/doesn't want to ratify the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. This thesis analyses main obstacles for ratification of the treaty which is especially important for its strong symbolic meaning. These obstacles are defined as juridical, ideological and political.

Státní bezpečnost a rok 1989 / State Security in 1989Procházka, Libor January 2012 (has links)
Thesis wants to show how well the Czechoslovak secret police was informed about the activities, plans and tactics of the political opposition especially in the year 1989. The main sources for the paper are the authentic records of the State Security as regular situation reports, information on the security situation in the country, inside directives of the secret police, but also some documents of the Communist Party leadership. Text shows which were the most important activities of the independent initiatives in the viewpoint of StB and prove that the security forces of the regime seem to might have had (surprisingly) good information on the opposition initiatives. Paper is also aimed on some functional aspects of the State Security, which did not exist in a political vacuum, but was directly subordinated to the Communist Party. Finally, it describes changes in the organizational structures of StB, particularly linked to the reform in 1988. Key words: State security, year 1989, opposition in Czechoslovakia, Charta 77, Movement for Civic Freedom, Obroda, Democratic initiative

Vývoj nástroje na hodnocení udržitelnosti bydlení / The Development of a Housing Sustainability Assessment ToolAdamec, Jakub January 2021 (has links)
Sustainable development is a principal concept for housing, urban infrastructure, energetics, transportation, or business. Fragmentation of concept definition is a result of abusive term overuse by the entire society. In 2015 UNECE established a clear sustainable housing definition through The Geneva UN Charter on Sustainable Housing and its 34 Rationales. The UN encourages its member states to measure progress in sustainable development through existing or newly developed indicators. Existing commercial housing evaluation tools are insufficient for the Geneva UN Charter concept. Initially, the tools measured the so-called greenness of buildings overlooking anthropocentric and social qualities of housing underlined in the UN Geneva Charter. Commercial certification tools heavily reliant on profits often utilize incorrect concepts of sustainability. That results in false sustainability. This work aspires to introduce a transparent housing sustainability assessment tool for the Czech Republic. Firstly, were identified unique phenomena outlining the concept of housing sustainability. To identified phenomena were consequently nominated and assigned appropriate indicators. While in a different situation is housing interpreted as a human environment, building, home, investment, or fundamental human...

Žďárský klášter v prvních letech po jeho obnovení (1676-1705) / The monastery in Žďár nad Sázavou in the first > years after its renewal (1676-1705)Schutová, Martina January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with the history of the Cistercian monastery of Žďár nad Sázavou in the second half of the 17th century, specifically from 1676 till 1705. In 1676, after almost four decades since the Cistercian Order had regained control of the seigniory in Žďár and the convent had been re-established, the monks were allowed to elect their own Abbot. Benedikt Zaunmüller, the prior of the monastery of Vyšší Brod, was elected and remained Abbot of Žďár till 1691 when he was forced to resign on health grounds. He was succeeded by Edmund Bagner, the first of the Abbots of the re-established monastery who was elected from the members of the Žďár convent and remained in office till his death in 1705. The scope of this thesis corresponds with the terms of office of these two Abbots who significantly contributed to the improvement in the economic situation of the monastery and the expansion of the personnel of the convent in Žďár and who are indisputably among the significant personalities of the Žďár Abbey. The outset of the thesis provides an overview of the available archival sources and existing literature on the topic. The first chapter outlines the history of the Žďár monastery from its establishment in the middle of the 13th century. The second chapter captures the transformation of the...

The diploma thesis Comparison of the Exile Press's View of Events in Czechoslovakia Using Národní politika and České slovo As Examples analyses the content of exile periodicals relating to the events in Czechoslovakia from the late 1960s until 1989. The analysis focuses on four events which can be seen as key moments in the period in question. The first event covered in the work is the Prague Spring, commencing with the first flashes of change to the occupation by the Warsaw Pact forces and its consequences. The analysis then explores the Helsinki Conference and the related civil initiative of Charter 77. The last even analysed is the Velvet Revolution and the period immediately preceding it. The first part of the thesis gives a historical overview of the development of the situation in Czechoslovakia during the period in question with an emphasis on the aforementioned events in Czechoslovak history. Emphasis is also placed on how exiles saw their role in the events in Czechoslovakia. Kolektivní akce Rady bezpečnosti OSN na ochranu lidských práv / Collective Actions of the UN Security Council for Protection of Human RightsChrtová, Michaela January 2015 (has links)
This thesis Collective Actions of the UN Security Council for the Protection of Human Rights deals with, as the title suggests, collective actions for the protection of human rights with the mandate of the UN Security Council. The thesis is divided into an introduction, conclusion, and four chapters. In the first chapter, the system of human rights protection is described, as it was set up within the newly-formed United Nations after World War II. This chapter also deals with collective actions of the UN Security Council, with or without the use of force, on a theoretical level, e.g. their authorization and possibility of measures that can be taken within the UN system against the perpetrator. Second chapter deals with examples of collective actions of the UN Security Council during the Cold War period. In this era, collective actions of the UN Security Council were authorized only twice, in case of South Africa as a reaction to their policy of apartheid, and in case of South Rhodesia as a reaction to the unilateral declaration of independence by the white minority government. Both cases are described in the chapter. The following chapter describes the development of human rights theories after the end of Cold War. With the end of the bipolar system, there is a shift in the perception of human...
