Relationship between Real Estate Industry and Stock Market in China

Di, Zeyu January 2020 (has links)
Each individual is both a consumer and an investor in the market. It is the common goal of every investor to achieve a high return on investment through the portfolio of profit maximization. As a result, the ratio of assets in a portfolio has become a hot topic. In China, real estate and the stock market are two main markets favoured by both individual and institutional investors. And there is a significant economic link between the two markets. Therefore, their mutual relationship and long-term and short-term causality can provide good guidance for investors. This paper studies the causality and correlation between stock trading volume and real estate trading volume in 31 provinces of mainland China. The empirical results in this paper is based on a panel data from 2000 to 2016 and divides 31 provinces into three different economic regions. The panel unit root test and the Pedroni co-integration test were carried out. The Hausman test was used to select among different estimation methods. Panel Mean Group is found the most suitable analysis method. It is found that the main industries in different provinces may affect the short-term causal relationship between real estate and the stock market. But in the long run, the causal relationship between real estate and the stock market is two-way and stable.

TEA-IS: A hybrid DEA-TOPSIS approach for assessing performance and synergy in Chinese health care

Antunes, J.J.M., Hadi-Vencheh, A., Jamshidi, A., Tan, Yong, Wanke, P.F. 24 March 2023 (has links)
Yes / This paper presents an assessment of the Chinese healthcare system in 31 provinces for a 10-year period in light of relevant physical and human resource variables. First, a novel TEA-IS (Trigonometric Envelopment Analysis for Ideal Solutions) model is developed to assess healthcare efficiency at the province level. Machine learning methods are also employed to predict high-low performance and the synergistic Chinese healthcare province in terms of contextual variables. The results indicate that synergy has played a pivotal role in the Chinese healthcare systems, not only by triggering higher performance levels due to the progressive adoption of best practices over the course of time, but also by being closely related to different socioeconomic and demographic variables, such as the illiteracy rate. It is possible to claim that healthcare performance has remained stable in China over the past two decades, performance and synergy at the province level are still heterogeneous.

Inflation dynamics in Chinese provinces / Dynamique de l'inflation dans les provinces chinoises

Chen, Changsheng 24 July 2013 (has links)
China's swift economic development and share in global trade increasing rapidly imply a need to understand its inflation dynamics with internal and external pressures. While recent papers focus on inflation process analysis in the mainland of China by using a country-level data (see, e.g. Brandt & Zhu, 2000; Feyzioğlu & Willard, 2006; Porter, 2010), less attention has been paid to differences across China's jurisdictions. Thus, understanding of inflation dynamics and its interaction among the Chinese provinces are the important issues for central bank's monetary policy decisions. Firstly, considering the internal and external inflation pressures, I analyze the inflation dynamics among the CMU (Chapter 3). Secondly, because of the free flow of goods and internal migration across the country, I'm interested in analyzing the effect of inflation interaction among its provinces with internal and external pressures (Chapter 4). Finally, we combine the interest in the provincial variation in China's inflation dynamics with its characteristic of economic openness by estimating hybrid open-economy Phillips curves for the Chinese provinces(Chapter 5).

Zvláštní ekonomické zóny v Číně: aktuální trendy a výkonnost vybraných ekonomických zón / Special economic zones in China: current trends and performance of selected economic zones

Papugová, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
Special Economic Zones have been a popular instrument for fostering economic growth. The SEZ's main aim is to attract foreign investors into the country, thus providing necessary capital for economic development. Diploma thesis focuses on application of this approach in China and provides analysis of origin, economic situation and future prospects of these areas. At first, the concept of special economic zone is theoretically defined for the further usage in chinese context. Thesis also offers a comparison with export processing zones and SEZs in India to provide a broader perspective of the concept of special economic zones in the world. Hereafter, the development and performance of SEZs in chinese provinces Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan are presented. Furthermore, the current challenges for the zones to face are identified. Those challenges will be crucial for zones to cope with in order to keep up the pace with today's trend of liberalisation and international cooperation in the worldwide economy.
