Invloed van die chronies fisieke siek ouer op die kind / The impact of the chronically ill parent on the childCoetzee, Heiletje Livina Helena Cathrina 02 1900 (has links)
is, ontleed.
Riglyne is
saamgestel om die terapeut, wat hierdie kind(ers) en gesinne begelei, te help. / The family is the system within which the child develops and eventually attains maturity.
When a patient is diagnosed with chronic disease, it has certain implications not only for the
parent, but also for children and other members of that family.
A liteature study was undertaken to determine the impact of the chronically ill parent on the
child. This study was then verified with specific case studies done by the author.
These case studies confinned the findings of the literature study.
It would seem that the chronic illness of a parent has a definite impact on the
development of a child. The parent's illness is a constant stressor within the family, causing
children to manifest affective, cognitive, behavioral as well as social problems.
Certain adjustments have to be made to minimize stress within such a family. Guidelines are
provided to assist the therapist in dealing with these children and families. / Psychology of Education / M. Ed. (Voorligting)

Relationship between employee knowledge, personal contact and attitudes towards chronically ill co-workers: case of selected organisations within the banking sectorKanengoni, Herbert January 2010 (has links)
As chronic illnesses continue to be a burden in today’s organisations, it remains a very crucial call for management to find ways to eradicate the associated organisational problems. While people of all ages are affected by chronic illnesses, there is a higher risk of the elderly developing chronic diseases. However, as much as chronic illnesses are inevitable among employees, there should be ways at least to curb negative social and goal achievement impact which they bring in organisations. In this regard, a survey of 80 employees was conducted to examine the relationship between employees' knowledge about, contact with, and attitudes towards their co-employees with chronic illnesses (CI). Results indicated that employees' knowledge about and contact with individuals diagnosed with chronic illnesses were significantly related to better attitudes toward this population. The findings also revealed that knowledge was related to positive attitudes among employees who had more personal contact with individuals with Chronic illnesses (CI) and such findings indicate the importance of exposing employees to information about chronic illnesses and direct practice experience with individuals who have these illnesses. To be noted also is that 39% of the respondents preferred to be exposed to health bulletins and magazines; 18% of the respondents preferred the help of health workers and about a third (30%) favoured brochures, posters and printed materials such as flyers. Managerial implications for employees with chronic illness are discussed

Vliv akupunktury na osobní pohodu pacientů s chronickým onemocněním / The effects of acupuncture on mental wellbeing in chronically ill patientsŠteflová, Anna January 2019 (has links)
The effects of acupuncture on mental wellbeing in chronically ill patients Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Student: Anna Šteflová Tutor: PharmDr. Jitka Pokladníková, Ph.D. Introduction: Demand of patients for the Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Czech Republic is raising and therefore it is necessary to critically evaluate its benefit for specific diagnoses, so that it would be possible to draw conclusions about its use in clinical practice. Objective: To evaluate influence of acupuncture with other methods of TCM on wellbeing and subjective level of pain in patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Methods: Wellbeing of patients before and after TCM therapy was assessed using validated questionnaire WEMWBS (Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale) and subjective level of pain before and after TCM therapy was determined using VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). The changes of wellbeing and subjective level of pain were evaluated first for the whole set of patients with musculoskeletal disorders and subsequently for the subsets of patients divided by the type of musculoskeletal disorder (according to International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems) and by the intensity of pain at the beginning of the...
