No. of bitstreams: 1 2010 - Sergio Prates Lima.pdf: 3168857 bytes, checksum: 3aab9483252128c9499aa634ef69ee25 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-08-19 / This paper analyzes the changes that occurred in the social-political and religious panorama of the Brazil Empire, in the period between 1855-1876, from the activities of the Scottish doctor and missionary, Robert Reid Kalley (1809-1888) in Brazil. The emphasis of this research revolves around the attempt of exercising Protestant religious practice in the Portuguese language and the resistance formed in the political-religious scope against such a right in a Roman Catholic country. The research also focuses on Kalley?s stay and activities in the Island of Madeira (1838-1846), which came to be the stage between Catholic and Protestant ideologies, culminating with the exodus and persecution of thousands of people, Kalley being the main target. Then, the sermons in Portuguese and the medical care that he accomplished in Madeira arrives in Brazil in 1855. This research also reveals specific Kalleyan methodology, how he worked independently of any church or missionary organization, even financially, unlike other missionaries at the time, although exercising the same practices of those. This examination of Protestantism informs and discloses the process that culminated with the acquisition of the civil right to registry (birth, marriage and death) by non-Catholics, citizens who did not practice the Common Religion. This paper also examines, the reaction of Kalley's Protestant speech, and reveals details of the resistance of the Catholic Church to allow freedom of worship along with the attempts to discredit the d Protestant practice and ideology. The survey also covers the discussions brought about by the Protestant mission in the Brazilian society, without forgetting to co-relate the factors going on within the Catholic Church who faced various difficulties, such as discussions about the republic, the abolitionist propaganda, foreign immigration, the patronage and the religious question, among other things, episodes that were essential to understanding the role of Robert Reid Kalley and of other missionaries who came after him. / Este trabalho analisa as mudan?as ocorridas no panorama s?cio-pol?tico-religioso do Brasil Imp?rio, no per?odo entre 1855-1876, a partir das atividades do m?dico e mission?rio escoc?s Robert Reid Kalley (1809-1888), em terras brasileiras. A t?nica da pesquisa gera em torno da tentativa do exerc?cio de pr?ticas religiosas protestantes, em l?ngua portuguesa e da resist?ncia formada no ?mbito pol?tico-religioso contra tal direito, num pa?s Cat?lico Romano. A pesquisa tamb?m enfoca sua perman?ncia e atua??o na Ilha da Madeira (1838-1846), que veio a se tornar cen?rio entre as ideologias cat?lica e protestante, culminando com o ?xodo e a persegui??o de milhares de pessoas, sendo Kalley o principal alvo. Em seguida, os serm?es em Portugu?s e os cuidados m?dicos que ele realizara na Madeira chegam ao Brasil, em 1855. A pesquisa revela especificidades da metodologia kalleyana, pois trabalha de forma independente de qualquer organismo mission?rio ou denominacional, inclusive financeiramente, diferente dos demais mission?rios aqui chegados, embora utilizando a mesma metodologia e pr?ticas daqueles. O exame do protestantismo de miss?o aut?ctone informa e descortina o processo que culminou com a aquisi??o do registro civil (nascimento, casamento e ?bito) pelos acat?licos, cidad?os n?o praticantes da religi?o majorit?ria. ? discutida a rea??o ao seu discurso protestante, revelam-se detalhes da resist?ncia da Igreja Cat?lica ao exerc?cio da liberdade de culto e as tentativas para desacreditar a pr?tica e a ideologia protestantes. A pesquisa abarca ainda as discuss?es trazidas pelo protestantismo de miss?o na sociedade brasileira, sem esquecer-se de co-relacionar os fatores que v?o agindo no seio da Igreja Cat?lica, que enfrentava dificuldades variadas, como as discuss?es sobre a rep?blica, a propaganda abolicionista, a imigra??o estrangeira, o Padroado e a Quest?o Religiosa, dentre outros temas, s?o epis?dios essenciais para compreender a atua??o de Robert Reid Kalley e dos demais mission?rios que chegaram depois dele.

It also analyzes if Cedoc could be an instrument to perpetuate the jounalistic company?s manipulation and persuasion. By means of indirect comment, the research analyzed how Rede Anhang?era de Comunica??o (RAC)?s Cedoc works. RAC is a news group that publishes the periodical paper Correio Popular, in Campinas, S?o Paulo state. This work also analyses the texts retrieved in Documentation Center that were originally published in the Correio Popular between 2001 and 2004, about the program Or?amento Participativo, implanted by the city hall of Campinas. The sdudy was made on the basis of the rhetorical analysis and in the standards of press manipulation described from Abramo. The Documentation Center is an place where a communication's process runs, therefore it has as characteristic the information's feedback and the capacity to turn the journalistic production from ephemeral to perennial. The study identifies problems noticed in order to retrieve information from the Cedoc, caused by using several and insufficient methods on document handling. This work also demonstrates that, just like the paper itself does with its readers, Cedoc tries to convince users that the facts had happened the way they are registered. In such a way, it is concluded that the Documentation Center strengthens the press performance while private device of hegemony , as pointed for Gramsci. / Este estudo analisa a organiza??o da informa??o e os mecanismos de busca do Centro de Documenta??o Jornal?stica (Cedoc) da Rede Anhang?era de Comunica??o (RAC) em Campinas. Analisa tamb?m se o Cedoc pode ser um instrumento para perpetuar as caracter?sticas de manipula??o e de persuas?o da empresa jornal?stica. Por meio de observa??o indireta, a pesquisa analisou o funcionamento do Cedoc da Rede Anhang?era de Comunica??o (RAC), grupo empresarial que publica o jornal Correio Popular, em Campinas, interior de S?o Paulo. Tamb?m foram analisados os textos recuperados no Centro de Documenta??o publicados no Correio Popular entre 2001 e 2004 sobre o programa Or?amento Participativo, implantado pela Prefeitura de Campinas. O estudo foi feito com base na an?lise ret?rica e nos padr?es de manipula??o da imprensa descritos por Abramo. O Centro de Documenta??o ? um espa?o onde ocorre um processo comunicacional, pois tem como caracter?sticas a retroalimenta??o da informa??o e a capacidade de tornar perene a produ??o jornal?stica, que ? ef?mera. O estudo identifica problemas para a recupera??o da informa??o no Cedoc, provocada pela utiliza??o de v?rios e insuficientes m?todos de tratamento dos documentos. O trabalho tamb?m demonstra que o Cedoc refor?a a atua??o da imprensa enquanto aparelho privado de hegemonia , conforme apontado por Gramsci.

Opening social participation initiatives aim to meet a yearning of the people themselves to be able to be integrated into the decision-making process, thus contributing to the construction of public and ensuring that their demands are heard and implemented policies. As well as the management of public policies, by the State, managers of social projects can use the strategy to involve the beneficiaries of these projects in the process of its preparation and execution. Besides the opportunity to influence decision-making personally exposing their priority needs and opining on what policies and actions to take, the participation of beneficiaries can help them to develop autonomy to continue these actions after completion of the projects. The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation has supported initiatives aimed at reducing inequalities and social inequities, and adopting social participation as a tool for empowerment. Among the projects supported by Fiocruz, the Community Communication Agency Manguinhos is a project that aims to involve the beneficiaries in its stages of design and development. In view of this, the objective of this research is to analyze how is the process of social participation in the Community Communication Agency Manguinhos project, supported by Fiocruz. A theoretical survey was conducted on the concept of social participation in the Brazilian context and on the social project management forms to identify the main characteristics of these elements in literature and subsequently carry out an empirical research on social participation in social projects. By analyzing the collected data it was possible to characterize the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and its relationship with the local communities where it is headquartered, describe the performance of the Social Cooperation Coordinator at Fiocruz and profile of the projects it supported, characterize the design Community Communication Agency of Manguinhos as to its structure and its actors, and finally, analyze the process of stakeholder participation in the Community Communication Agency Manguinhos project. The results revealed that social participation is a differential of this project, which from the time of its formulation, seeks to involve residents of the territory in discussions, decision-making processes and monitoring of the results / Discuss?es a respeito da participa??o social nas inst?ncias de constru??o das pol?ticas p?blicas, t?m se tornado cada vez mais frequentes nos cen?rios social e pol?tico do Brasil e do mundo. As iniciativas de abertura ? participa??o social buscam atender um anseio da pr?pria popula??o por poder ser integrada ao processo de tomadas de decis?o, contribuindo assim com a constru??o das pol?ticas p?blicas e assegurando que suas demandas sejam ouvidas e concretizadas. Assim como na gest?o das pol?ticas p?blicas, por parte do Estado, os gestores dos projetos sociais podem se utilizar da estrat?gia de envolver os benefici?rios destes projetos nos processos de sua elabora??o e execu??o. Al?m da oportunidade de influir nas tomadas de decis?o, expondo pessoalmente suas necessidades priorit?rias e opinando sobre quais pol?ticas e a??es devem ser adotadas, a participa??o dos benefici?rios pode contribuir para que estes desenvolvam autonomia para dar continuidade a estas a??es ap?s a finaliza??o dos projetos. A Funda??o Oswaldo Cruz tem apoiado iniciativas voltadas para a redu??o das desigualdades e iniquidades sociais, e que adotam a participa??o social como ferramenta para o empoderamento. Dentre os projetos apoiados pela Fiocruz, a Ag?ncia de Comunica??o Comunit?ria de Manguinhos ? um projeto que se prop?e a envolver os benefici?rios em suas etapas de elabora??o e desenvolvimento. Tendo em vista isso, o objetivo dessa pesquisa ? analisar de que maneira ocorre o processo de participa??o social no projeto da Ag?ncia de Comunica??o Comunit?ria de Manguinhos, apoiado pela Fiocruz. Foi realizado um levantamento te?rico sobre o conceito de participa??o social no contexto brasileiro e sobre as formas de gest?o de projetos sociais visando identificar as principais caracter?sticas destes elementos na literatura e, posteriormente, realizar uma pesquisa emp?rica sob a participa??o social em projetos sociais. Por meio da an?lise dos dados coletados foi poss?vel caracterizar a Funda??o Oswaldo Cruz e sua rela??o com as comunidades da regi?o onde ela est? sediada, descrever a atua??o da Coordenadoria de Coopera??o Social da Fiocruz, bem como perfil dos projetos por ela apoiados, caracterizar o projeto da Ag?ncia de Comunica??o Comunit?ria de Manguinhos quanto ? sua estrutura e aos seus atores e, por fim, analisar o processo de participa??o dos atores no projeto da Ag?ncia de Comunica??o Comunit?ria de Manguinhos. Os resultados revelaram que a participa??o social ? um diferencial deste projeto, que, desde o momento da sua formula??o, busca envolver os moradores do territ?rio nas discuss?es, nos processos de tomadas de decis?o e no acompanhamento dos resultados obtidos.
