This work is intended to be an analysis of the societal impact of the Brazilian Space Program on its own country. The premise is based on the concept of ?field? present in the work of Pierre Bourdieu, which establishes a field as a social construction, result of the work of its constituent actors. To relate the Space Program to a field, this work established the existence of four actors: Federal Government, Industry, Academy and Civil Society. The choice was made to describe the societal impact of the Space Program in each one of these actors in separate chapters, adding a chapter about the history of the Program, so as to establish an understandable timeline for the rest of the text. Several different governmental documents were used, besides national and foreign aerospace literature, as well as interviews with individuals involved with the Space Program under various forms.
