Em nossa dissertação visualizamos o IHGG como uma instituição regional que buscou, através da reunião de diversos intelectuais goiano, em diferentes tempos, elaborar a história e a geografia da região de Goiás. Para esse fim, recorremos a nova historiografia da ciência que estabelece diálogo com a História Cultural. Esse diálogo investiga os objetos 'escondidos', e assim permite que se investiguem -instituições e práticas científicas anteriormente desconsideradas. Ao longo de sua trajetória o Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Goiás teve, ao nosso entender, três fases que marcaram a sua vida institucional. A primeira caracteriza-se como o momento de criação e implantação, período marcado pela administração do professor Colemar Natal e Silva. A segunda caracteriza-se como o momento de consolidação da Casa. A terceira caracteriza-se pela fase de uma maior aproximação do IHGG com a sociedade goiana através da divulgação do conhecimento regional nos Cursos de Cultura Goiana e na Revista do Instituto. Essa dissertação apresenta uma análise dessas três fases abordando os papéis educacionais, sociais e políticos exercidos pela Instituição ao longo dos 50 anos por nós investigados / Abstract: The present study aims to investigate and consequently comprehend the institutional trajectory of the Historic and Geographic Institute of the State of Goiás (IHGG) between 1930 and 1970. In this dissertations we visualize this institute as a regional institution which, putting together some intellectuaIs, pursued the construction of the history of Goiás. To reach our goals, we made use of the new history of seience which has set a dialogue with the cultural history. This dialogue allows us to investigate the "hidden" objects and therefore, to investigate institutions and scientific practices that had never been considered before. In its institutional existence this institute has been marked, in our understanding, by there phases. The first one is characterized as the moment of creation and establishment, when we ean see that Professor Natal e Silva made his mark. The second one is the moment of consolidation of the house. FinaIly, the third phase is the one in which there is an approximation between the institute and goiana's society through the spreading of a regional knowledge in goiana's culture courses and in the Review of IHGG.
