Topic of this thesis is revitalisation of former joiner-specialised high school areal in Rousínov u Vyškova. Areal is located on flat grounds on Tyršova street in cadastral area of Rousínov u Vyškova near Sušil square, central and important area of town. In the areal, 6 building are located, some of which are to be demolished a replaced with new ones, some rebuild for different purspose. The main building of the elementary school and the school gym will be maintained without changes. Building of former girls boarding school will be arranged to elementary school utilization. Boys boarding school building will be rebuild to a nursing home. Building of joiner-specialised high school will be demolished and replaced with hotel, library and small brewery. Building of school canteen will be demolished except for its basement level, which will be kept as repository. Newly created space of ground will create a small plaza between the elemetary school, center of free time and the nursing home. Fences around the area will be removed so that whole area can be accessed by public a will provide its visitors a nice place stay.

Bereits in jungen Jahren hatte Carl Ferdinand Becker eine Sammelleidenschaft an jeglicher Art von musikhistorischer Betrachtung. Vor allem Musikdrucke und –handschriften sowie musikhistorische Werke aus dem 15. Jahrhundert bis zu seiner Zeit gerieten in sein Blickfeld. Das zu seiner Zeit völlig vernachlässigte und unbekannte Repertoire wird heute als musikalische Universalbibliothek angesehen. Im Jahre 1865 übergab Becker seinen „Schatz“ an die Stadtbibliothek Leipzig. In den Jahren 2010-2012 wird die gesamte Sammlung nun in die internationale Quellendatenbank RISM und in den SWB eingepflegt.

Die Berücksichtigung der sozialen Aspekte in der Arbeit der Städtischen Bibliotheken Dresden hat bereits über Jahrzehnte Tradition. Die Erfüllung dieser Aufgaben durch hauptamtlich eingesetztes Fachpersonal konnte nur mit der Unterstützung Freiwilliger in ihrer ganzen Bandbreite gewährleistet werden. Immer wieder fanden sich Menschen, die mit ihrem ehrenamtlichen Engagement einen wichtigen Beitrag dazu geleistet haben, dass auch Mitbürger eine Bibliothek nutzen können, denen es aus unterschiedlichen Gründen nicht möglich ist, aus eigener Kraft eine öffentliche Bibliothek aufzusuchen.

Für viele Schriftsteller, die schon zu Lebzeiten als Klassiker gelten, werden Denkmale errichtet oder öffentliche Gebäude nach ihnen benannt. Ihre Bücher aber werden zunehmend weniger gelesen. In Chemnitz wurde am 23. November 2010 eine neue Datenbank, die „Stefan-Heym-Sammlung“, für das Internet frei geschaltet. Das Web-Portal, ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Stadtbibliothek und der Universitätsbibliothek Chemnitz, soll die Beschäftigung mit Leben und Werk des international renommierten Autors lebendig halten.

Project of new city library in industrial environment at Sévelin platform, Lausanne.

This thesis addresses the new building of the municipal library on 3 floors. Operation of library is divided into public and private part. On the first floor there are dressing rooms, technical facilities, training rooms and spaces for commercial uses, such as a cafe and stationery. Storage spaces of library are using all floors and they are located in a separate wing. The main interest of readers is placed into the second and third floor, there are also offices to ensure the operation of the library. All floors are equipped with sanitary facilities for each building operation. The building is covered with flat roof.

Project for the new houses of city library and mediatheque, solves the concept of redesigning the old industry area Sevelin in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland. Here should the new social and education district takes place, what brings a new metropolitan lifestyle. Two objects of library and mediatheque end up the rows of rational city grid at this platform. They define the new open space in between as a new entrance area on the platform Sevelin. It becomes also the extension of library activities to the urban space. Here also the new metro station takes place. Concept of the library – “house in house, city in the city” creates the group of three volumes situated under one roof. The houses of adults’ library, youth library and administration define two atriums in between. Here the life of the whole building meets together. Volume of mediatheque steps up the row and shows the new direction of our culture and media.
