Exploring the Impact of God Schema on Equal Opportunity Climate and Related Indicators of Organizational EffectivenessFindlay, Rolanda Alexis 20 November 2009 (has links)
The present study explored the relationship between God schema and work place perceptions, specifically perceptions of equal opportunity (EO) climate and indicators of organizational effectiveness (OE). The first aim of this research was to investigate the impact of God schema (i.e., God schema patterns) on EO climate (i.e., collective EO climate patterns). The second aim of this research was to explore the impact of God schema, race, gender, and EO climate on indicators of organizational effectiveness, such as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, perceived work-group cohesion, and perceived work-group effectiveness. The final aim of this study was to examine the impact of group heterogeneity in terms of God schema, race, and gender, on group perceptual agreement.
Data was collected and analyzed from 1,622 United States Navy personnel who completed the DEOMI Equal Opportunity Climate Survey (DEOCS) and attached God schema research module. Using a pattern approach (i.e., cluster analysis and configural frequency analysis), the results provided clear support for a relationship between God schema and perceptions of EO climate and OE. The findings suggested the influence of God schema was expressed differently depending on an individual's race/gender identity. Lastly, the results provided support for the predictive power of God schema (i.e., God schema heterogeneity within a unit) on unit-level agreement.
Taken as a whole, these findings highlighted a dynamic relationship between God schema and perceptions of EO climate and related indicators of OE. The research findings affirmed individuals’ conceptions of God are powerful cognitive schema. In addition, the research findings illustrated individuals’ conceptions of God and variations among these conceptions are measurable, and can be investigated in an objective and scientific manner. Above all, the findings supported a meaningful relationship between God schema and work-place perceptions. / Ph. D.

Primeiramente, avaliou-se os tipos de tempo sucedidos no município de Rio Claro – SP, em um mês de inverno e um de verão, utilizando-se da técnica de análise rítmica. A coleta de dados ocorreu durante os meses de julho/agosto de 2008 e janeiro de 2009. Verificou-se a percepção dos aspectos de sazonalidade e da sucessão dos tipos de tempo, bem como a percepção das influências atmosféricas no cotidiano e tempo-sensitividade individuais, identificando-se ainda a influência dos meios de comunicação no processo perceptivo. No que se refere às alterações climáticas o imaginário social apresentou-se de forma uniformizada e seguiu a convicção de que estas já estão ocorrendo, que alcançam uma escala espacial global e têm como repercussão o aumento de eventos extremos e catastróficos. Mesmo concebendose que as causas antropogênicas são prevalecentes no processo parcela significativa isentou-se de responsabilidade. / The study aimed at evaluating the perception of weather types, of climatic rhythm and of the climate changes by means of two approaches – a climatological and other of the perception. Firstly, were assessed the weather types successful in Rio Claro county – SP, in one month of winter and one of summer, using the technique of rhythmic analysis. In order to verify the climate perception of residents applied eighty questionnaires distributed in a manner equivalent in the urban and rural areas. Data collection occurred during the months of july / august, 2008 and january, 2009. There was the perception of seasonal aspects and about the succession of weather types, the perception of the weather types influences in the life and health conditions of the individuals, and the media influences in the perceptual process. With regard to climate change, the social image presented in a standardized and followed the conviction that they are already taking place, reaching a global spatial scale and have the effect in the increase of extreme events and catastrophic. Even conceiving that anthropogenic causes are prevalent in significant portion but was remained free of responsibility.

師父工作不安全感與師徒功能關係之探討:組織競爭氣候知覺與師徒關係類型之調節效果 / Job insecurity and mentoring support: the moderating roles of intraorganizational competitiveness climate perception and mentorship formality周廷穎, Chou, Ting Ying Unknown Date (has links)
師徒關係是組織中重要的人際關係,而師父是師徒功能的提供者,故探討影響師父是否提供師徒功能的因素有其理論與實務上的的意涵。然而,現有文獻大多從徒弟特質或環境因素來探討促進師父提供師徒功能之因素,而忽略了師父本人的動機因素。有鑑於此,本研究將反向思考,探討降低師父提供師徒功能之因素。本研究首先探討師父工作不安全感與師徒功能之負向關係。並進一步探討師父的組織競爭氣候知覺與師徒關係類型是否調節前述之負向關係。本研究以便利抽樣之方法進行資料收集,共獲得170份有效問卷。根據迴歸分析結果顯示,師父工作不安全感與師徒功能有負向關係,但僅有師父的組織競爭氣候知覺調節前述之負向關係。當師父的組織競爭氣候知覺高時,前述負向關係的強度更強。但師徒關係類型(正式或非正式)則不對於上述關係具有調節效果。本論文也針對研究結果的理論與管理意涵進行討論。 / Mentors are the providers for mentoring support to protégés. However, the available studies focus on factors relevant to protégés or contexts and overlooked the role of mentors. Given that mentor plays an indispensable role in mentoring relationships, understanding the mentor-related factors that contribute to mentors’ provision of mentoring support has theoretical and practical implications. To this end, the current study examined the factors that prevent mentors from providing mentoring support to their protégés. Specifically, I argue that mentors’ job insecurity will be negatively related mentoring support provided. Furthermore, mentors’ intra-organizational competitiveness climate perception and mentorship formality will moderate the above negative relationship. Using a convenience sampling strategy, data from 170 mentoring pairs were collected. Results of hierarchical regression analysis indicated that job insecurity was negatively related with mentoring functions. Furthermore, intra-organizational competitiveness climate perception moderated the negative relationship between job insecurity and mentor functions such that the negative relationship was stronger for mentors who have high intra-organizational competitiveness climate perception. Finally, mentorship formality failed to moderate the above relationship. Theoretical and practical implications of this research were discussed.

In this diploma thesis is focus on Drama in Education, which is used mainly in the lessons of the World of Human with overlap into other education. The topic of the diploma thesis was to improve the relations between pupils and thus to influence the climate in the classroom. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part focus on the content and specific objectives of Drama in Education. It describes in more details the methods and techniques of Drama in Education. In the practical part, is presented a methodical proposal of lessons for students of the 2nd grade of primary school. Each lesson consists of three parts - planning of a lesson, implementation of topic and subsequent reflection. The first topic relates to friendship, the second one relates to class climate, the third is about hurting and the fourth is about bragging. In the lessons plans are used and tried several drama education methods and techniques, which could give the answer to research question. In the empirical part are present two questionnaires. The first questionnaire was given to pupils before the drama lessons and the second questionnaire after the completion of all four lessons.
