"The purpose of this study is A) to identify the criteria for establishing permanent off-campus facility for existing centers. B) To identify the number of students from College of the Desert (COD) who are planning to continue their education at the California State University, Coachella Valley Campus (CVC.) C) To determine whether a permanent CSU Campus in Coachella Valley will motivate students from College of the Desert (COD) to get their bachelor's degree locally. D) To identify the degree programs in which COD students are most interested-in. E) To determine whether ethnicity (Hispanic students are the target group) plays a role in the students' choice of degree program. For purpose of this study literature pertaining to development of California State University, San Bernardino, and development of CSU off-campus centers was reviewed. Two hundred and thirty one students attending the spring 1999 semester at College of the Desert provided the data for this study."

Using Coachella Valley's Salton Sea ecosystem as a model, several multidisciplinary wetland activities for grades three to six were developed. A resource guide for educators is included.

The purpose of this project is to develop a domestic violence consciousness raising-education program and a self-administered risk assessment for a population of community college nursing students. When the faculty became aware that attrition rates were rising and that a high number of requests to drop out of nursing school were disproportionately linked to recent incidences of domestic violence, a potential contributing cause of the high drop out rate was revealed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of the Purhepecha children, also referred to as Tarascan, and their families living in the Eastern Coachella Valley located in California. A questionaire was developed by the author in order to identify the population's specific needs. Ultimatley, it is with hope that the Purhepecha people's needs will be understood as relevant to their language and culture, and make these needs public for other professionals working with this population.

The purpose of this study is to examine if school or community characteristics correlate with suspensions and expulsions. The data examined in this study were drawn from Riverside County schools. The schools were examined to determine if school or social disorganization characteristics correlate with suspension and expulsion rates.
