The present work pretends to show the relevance of the invasion to the political sciences, analyse the transmission of information in Brazil through its midia, and distinguish the world visions of the analysed means. This project will inquirer if there is a positioning of the studieds magazines, wich are they and debate the possibilities of influency in the reader comprehension. From the invasion of Irak we can also understand the role of potency of United States in the world today, wich is reconfiguring the global order / Esta dissertação tem como objeto de estudo a invasão norte-americana ao Iraque e a cobertura dada ao tema pelas revistas de tiragem nacional Veja e Carta Capital, de janeiro de 2003 a fevereiro de 2005, a partir de uma planilha de classificação das matérias e transcrição dos textos. O presente trabalho pretende mostrar a relevância da invasão para a ciência política, analisar a transmissão de informações no Brasil através de sua mídia, e distinguir as visões de mundo dos meios analisados. Este projeto irá averiguar se existe um posicionamento das revistas estudadas, quais são eles e debater as possibilidades de influência na compreensão do leitor. A partir da invasão ao Iraque podemos também entender o papel de potência dos Estados Unidos no mundo de hoje, que está reconfigurando a ordem global
