O zamb? ? nossa cultura: o coco de zamb? e a emerg?ncia ?tnica em Siba?ma, Tibau do Sul-RN

The zamb? appears intensely in the narratives related to the past and present of Siba?ma, a quilombola community located in the southern coast of the state. It is conceived as a sign of ethnicity linked to a local black ancestry. The group is known as "remnant of Quilombo," and is demanding the process of territorial settlement, as guaranteed through the Brazilian federal constitution. The coco de zamb?, presented as a kind of "certificate of ancestry to the group, besides, after a long period of abandonment, the dance is beeing "revitalized" and exploited by a part of the group alongside the demands for recognition. In this process there are several interlinked actors: NGOs, state agencies to promote the culture, representatives of public authorities and local leaders. Here, I'm interested in understanding how this process of revival occurs with the coco de zamb? in Siba?ma: how a "brincadeira" (play) of the ancients comes to be a "cultural reference" and a means of political mobilization concerning their recognition / O coco de zamb? ? uma dan?a cuja origem ? creditada aos antigos escravos que habitavam a regi?o litor?nea do Rio Grande do Norte. O zamb? aparece de forma intensa nas narrativas relacionadas ao passado e ao presente de Siba?ma, comunidade quilombola localizada no litoral sul do estado, tornando-se um elemento indicativo de pertencimento ?tnico, ligado a ancestralidade negra local. O grupo ? reconhecido como remanescente de quilombo , e passa pelo processo de regulariza??o territorial. O coco de zamb? ? apresentado como uma esp?cie de atestado de ancestralidade do grupo; al?m disso, depois de um longo per?odo de abandono, a dan?a passa a ser revitalizada e instrumentalizada por uma parte do grupo paralelamente ?s reivindica??es pelo reconhecimento quilombola. Neste processo v?rios atores encontram-se imbricados: ONG's, ?rg?os estatais de fomento ? cultura, representantes dos poderes p?blicos e lideran?as locais. Me interessa, aqui, compreender de que modo ocorre este processo de revitaliza??o do zamb? em Siba?ma: como uma brincadeira dos antigos se torna, entre outras coisas, uma "referencia cultural" e um meio de mobiliza??o pol?tica em torno de seu reconhecimento
