This counting technique, called generating function, originated through the work Moivre and Euler whose intended purpose was to solve recurrent problems related to the partitions of an entire. / O foco principal deste trabalho é apresentar uma extensão do coeficiente binomial denominada coeficiente trinomial, pois o mesmo descreve características similares ao coeficiente binomial. Além disso, iremos retratar uma técnica de contagem que possibilita desenvolver o conteúdo de polinômio juntamente com Análise combinatória. Esta técnica de contagem, denominada função geradora, originou-se por meio dos trabalhos de Moivre e Euler cujo objetivo pretendido era resolver sucessões recorrentes e problemas relacionados a partições de um inteiro.
