This study was performed in order to evaluate the prevalence rates of endoparasitic diseases during the four seasons of the year, of 380 people ranging from zero to fourteen years old, in a total of 1140 samples processed according to Faust (1939) and Ritchie (1948) methods in the period from September 2004 to August 2005. An epidemiological investigation questionnaire was applied to evaluate the biological, social, cultural and spacial variables. The general prevalence rate was 15.8%, with 13.7% mono and 2.1% poly parasitic disease. Within the positive samples it was detected 51.7% of Ascaris lumbricoides, 31.7% of Giardia lamblia, 15% of Entamoeba coli, 13.3% od Trichuris trichiura and 1% of Endolimax nana. The seasonal prevalence presented significant difference (p = 0.01) to parasitic infection with an OR= 2.35 (1.3% < IC 95% < 4.4%) favouring summer, with a prevalence of 26.3% (21.9% < IC 95% < 31.7%) in the fall. In the spring the prevalence was 12.6% (5.9 < IC 95% < 19.3%) and in the winter it was 11.6% (5.2 < IC 95% < 18.0%). In relation to the climate variables, significant seasonal differences were found with an OR=2.55 (1.4 < IC 95% < 4.8) for average temperature of 22.8ºC, against average temperature lower than 18.7ºC, relative than 190.3 cal. cm2/season. The spatial distribution of the positive houses in Cohab Tablada suburban area presented more prevalent subsectors correlated to the presence of exposed sewage, with OR=153.5 (55.5 < IC 95% < 444.3) with a p<0.001, when distances shorter than 300 meters far from the residences to the probabale sources of contamination, were considered.
