The Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) method is a data-driven method employed to tune the parameters of a controller. An advantage of this method lies in the fact that it does not need a detailed knowledge of the process model. This work presents the development of an Android application which employs the VRFT method and a newly developed recursive version of it to tune a PID controller based upon the data collected from an experiment conducted on the process. The experiment can be set up, started, monitored, and stopped from inside the mobile application. To communicate with the controller a Bluetooth-Modbus gateway and an application layer protocol, designed over the Bluetooth serial communication service, are employed, both newly developed. Finally, the entire solution is verified in two steps: first some experiments were conducted on a simulated process, then another experiment was conducted to tune a real commercial controller, both showing good results.

Achieving Interoperability among Healthcare OrganizationsMajeed, Muhammad Ehsan Mansoor;Rashid January 2010 (has links)
The area of eHealth has been increased in the recent age but also facing a lot of challenges. In relation to these, there exists a lack of interoperability among different healthcare organizations in the way of providing care services to the healthcare professionals and the patients. Interoperability among the healthcare organizations is appreciated not only by the academia but also by the policy-makers and other related personnel. Today, implementation of interoperability has become an intricate job than expectations. Interoperability is resisted by different barriers but potentially can give several benefits to all stakeholders and ultimately should be focused. The study is conducted for investigation of challenges and benefits of interoperability among healthcare organizations in the Blekinge County. In the first phase, after having a comprehensive review of literature, the challenges and benefits for the implementation of interoperability among Swedish healthcare organizations are identified. Depending on the findings, interviews were conducted with the eHealth professionals of the Blekinge County to clearly understand about the strategies and plans regarding the interoperability among the healthcare organizations in the Blekinge County. After performing a thorough analysis, questionnaire were conducted with the Medical IT administrators and with other related personnel to know about their opinions about the problem. The authors find after analyzing the results of the study that focus on resolving issues like standards adaptation, accessibility, integration, privacy and proper ICT infrastructure could provide interoperable environment among municipality healthcare centers and hospitals in the Blekinge County and other areas in the Sweden.

Standardization perspectives of communication infrastructure of future homes : from automated home to sustainable, healthy and manufacturing homeBranger, Jakob January 2015 (has links)
Driven by the Internet of Things, devices and appliances will be increasingly connected to each other and the people within the home. In order for the communication to be possible a standard for communication is needed. In many cases there are too many standards, and for other cases there may instead be an absence of standard. This thesis provides a contemporary view of future developments of homes and the current standardization progress. Four domains in homes are investigated: the automated home domain, the sustainable home domain, the healthy home domain and the manufacturing home domain. Trends and technologies are identified that drive a change in homes. Services are described that may be provided in homes. The thesis discusses how services from different domains may be integrated, with a further investigation of the networked manufacturing service and its underlying communication infrastructure. Finally standards are identified and analyzed in regard to the communication infrastructure of the networked manufacturing service. The standardization development is progressing for each home domain. However, potential standard gaps are still present for many of the cross domain device communication. No standard has been identified for integration of services and integration of the business ecosystem in the manufacturing home domain. Similarly there is no standard for the software of 3D printing. New standards or further development of existing standards is needed to realize the networked manufacturing service.

Návrh protokolu hardwarového akcelerátoru náročných výpočtů nad více jádry / A Hardware-acceleration Protocol Design for Demanding Computations over Multiple CoresBareš, Jan January 2018 (has links)
This work deals with design of communication protocol for data transmission between control computer and computing cores implemented on FPGA chips. The purpose of the communication is speeding the performance demanding software algorithms of non-stream data processing by their hardware computation on accelerating system. The work defines a terminology used for protocol design and analyses current solutions of given issue. After that the work designs structure of the accelerating system and communication protocol. In the main part the work describes the implementation of the protocol in VHDL language and the simulation of implemented modules. At the end of the work the aplication of designed solution is presented along with possible extension of this work.

Implementace simulačního modelu zjednodušené databáze DiffServ-MIB / Implementation of a simulation model for a simplified DiffServ-MIB databaseZeman, Otto January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this work is to propose feasible solution for the simulation of the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) protocol in the OPNET Modeler simulation environment. This work describes in detail individual procedures, which were chosen for this simulation . The work also contains an introduction to the OPNET Modeler simulation environment, the SNMP protocol, the DiffServ model and the DiffServ-MIB database. The main part of this work describes the algorithms programmed to model the functions of the SNMP protocol. Source codes of the algorithms programmed are included as well. The work deals especially with the functions for obtaining values from different levels of a multilevel model attributes, packet creation functions with dynamically changing length of user-data field, for the implementation process of a simplified DiffServ MIB database and with the functions for statistic creation.

Řídicí elektronika pro biohazard box / Control electronics for biohazard boxPavlas, Lukáš January 2015 (has links)
This work deals with the design of the electronic driver system for working conditions monitoring in the laboratory box. The state of the art of the laboratory boxes with the laminar convection is presented. The functional specification is made based on final customer needs, then leads to design of the possible solution. The solution is divided into two independent blocks - Main driver unit and Add-on module. The Main driver unit solution is made upon commercially available solution. The Add-on module is then designed including selection of suitable components, PCB prototype and appropriate firmware. Finally the work presents specification of implemented communication protocol for joining both parts Main driver unit and Add-on module.

Nástroje a interaktivní prostředí pro simulaci komunikace / Tools for Environment for the Simulation of CommunicationMikuš, Peter January 2010 (has links)
Communication between devices should be based on predefined rules. These rules are called communication protocols. In this master thesis I am concerned with communication protocols, specially security protocols. Their design demand specialized tools, that will provide interactive simulations and security testing. I have described each of these tools in detail and mentioned about their properties, their pros and cons. In available tools I have implemented security protocols. The result is set of demonstration tasks that are usable in network courses at FIT VUT
