Este estudo busca caracterizar o agente comunitário de saúde dos Núcleos de Saúde da Família ligados ao Centro de Saúde Escola da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto-USP, bem como, identificar as repercussões que o desenvolver deste trabalho tem lhe trazido. A abordagem teórica baseia-se nas políticas de saúde do Brasil, tendo como enfoque principal a reorganização da assistência à saúde com o Programa Saúde da Família. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório e descritivo, a partir de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com dez agentes comunitários de saúde que possuíam mais de dois anos no exercício da atividade. A análise dos dados se processou de forma qualitativa, emergindo os seguintes temas: o ser agente comunitário de saúde, o cenário do trabalho e as potencialidades do trabalho do agente comunitário de saúde. Identificamos que esse profissional da saúde desempenha um trabalho complexo e possui um papel de sujeito mediador e terapeuta comunitário. Utiliza como ferramentas no seu trabalho tecnologias leves como o acolhimento, o respeito, o vínculo e a solidariedade. Responsabiliza-se pelo projeto que está inserido, vislumbrando a sua própria família e a si mesmo e aponta uma ambigüidade de sentimentos que o leva ora para a satisfação, ora para a insatisfação no trabalho. Nesta prática contextualizada, colabora com a construção de um novo modelo assistencial, quando, num processo educativo, ensina alunos de graduação de vários cursos da área da saúde e mesmo aos profissionais que estão inseridos na Saúde da Família a promover uma atenção à saúde humanizada. Por isso, identificou-se uma nova atribuição a este profissional, sendo esta, participar da formação de recursos humanos para a saúde da família. / This study aims at characterizing the communitarian health agent in Health Nuclei for the Family who are linked to Health Center established by The School of Medicine Course in Ribeirão Preto, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as, identifying the repercussion the developing of this work has brought. The theoretical approach used in this case is based in Health Politics in Brazil, aiming specifically the re-organization of the health assistance with the Program Health for the Family. We dealt with an exploratory and descriptive study starting with interviews with ten communitarian agents who had more than two year experience in their activity. The data analysis was processed using the qualitative focus, from which the following themes emerged: being a communitarian agent, the scenario of that work, the potentialities of the communitarian health agent’s work. We identified that this professional of health performs a complex work and has a role as negotiator and community therapist. He or she employs these following tools for his or her work the instruments: respect, reception, ties and solidarity. The communitarian agent showed to be responsible for the project he or she is in, viewing their work from his or her own family and from his or her personality. The study shows a certain ambiguity in feelings which can drive him or her to satisfaction and also to unhappiness sometimes. In this practice in context, the agent contributes for the construction of a new assistance model, when taking part in educational process. The agent teaches graduation students in different courses of Health field and promotes an humanitarian attention to health. This way, a new duty was identified for this professional, i.e., the participation in the formation of human resources to the health of the family.

The relevance of this research is justified, predominantly, by the affirmation of the binomial education and health, existing in a dialectic relation. In the context of the Brazilian Public Health, the PSF shows a strategy with approach in the health promotion using a essential instrument that is the health education for all the families. The ACS is the professional of the PSF that has more frequent contact and proximity with the population, ahead of this, it becomes pertinent to investigate which are educative practices used for these professionals in order to deepen the scientific knowledge of this reality and, thus, to put it in a context and to identify possible strategies and boardings, difficulties and easinesses presents in this interaction. A descriptive and explorative research of qualitative matrix was carried through using assisted observation associated to interviews. As theoretical bedding there is the dialogical and emancipated education, and the health-illness process understood as resultant of the decurrent strengthen and consuming factors of the different forms of insertion in the society with its different forms to work and to live. There was identified four categories presents in the educative practical developed by the ACS : (a) the Communitarian Agent of Health work; (b) the relation between the Communitarian Agent of Health and the population; (c) the functioning dynamics of the Health Service and (d) the Communitarian Agent of Health as educator; these categories contemplate subcategories and they send us to the reflection about the educative potential presented by the ACS that contemplates attributes of proximity and affectivity in the relation with the population, but that still assumes one reiterate practice of the present ideologies although the existence of reflective moments which do not find structural endorsement for a educative practical change with sights for a transforming performance / O objeto do presente estudo é a educação em saúde na prática de trabalho dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde (ACS), o objetivo foi investigar as práticas educativas desenvolvidas pelos ACS do Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF) de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) da periferia da Zona Norte no Município de São Paulo. A relevância desta pesquisa justifica-se, predominantemente, pela existência do binômio educação e saúde em uma relação dialética. No contexto da Saúde Pública Brasileira, o PSF revela-se uma estratégia com enfoque na promoção à saúde utilizando-se de um instrumento fundamental que é a educação em saúde para todas as famílias. O ACS é o profissional do PSF que está em contato mais freqüente e próximo com a população, diante disto, torna-se pertinente investigar quais são as práticas educativas utilizadas por esses profissionais a fim de aprofundar o conhecimento científico desta realidade e, assim, contextualizar e identificar possíveis estratégias e abordagens, dificuldades e facilidades presentes nessa interação. Realizou-se uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória de cunho qualitativo utilizando-se da observação participativa associada a entrevistas. Como fundamento teórico tem-se a educação dialógica e emancipatória, e o processo saúde-doença compreendido como resultante dos fatores de fortalecimento e desgaste decorrentes das diferentes formas de inserção na sociedade com suas diferentes formas de trabalhar e viver. Identificou-se quatro categorias presentes na prática educativa desenvolvida pelos ACS: (a) o trabalho do Agente Comunitário de Saúde; (b) a relação do Agente Comunitário de Saúde com a população; (c) a dinâmica de funcionamento do Serviço de Saúde e (d) o Agente Comunitário de Saúde como educador; essas categorias contemplam subcategorias e nos remetem à reflexão acerca do potencial educativo apresentado pelos ACS que contempla atributos de proximidade e afetividade na relação com a população, mas que ainda assumem uma prática reiterativa das ideologias presentes apesar da existência de momentos reflexivos os quais não encontram respaldo estrutural para uma mudança na prática educativa com vistas a uma atuação transformadora
