This research aims to measure the relationship between Human Values, and Organizational Commitment in the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) and the mediating role of Compassionate and Self-Image goals in this relationship. More specifically, the objective is tomeasure the relationship between Human Values, using the PVQ-R (Schwartz et al., 2012, Torreset al., 2016) and Affective Organizational Commitment, through the OrganizationalCommitment Scale (Bastos & Aguiar, 2015), as well as the possible mediating role of the Self-Image and Compassionate Goals, using the Self-image and Compassion Goal Scale(Crocker & Canevello, 2008). Six hundred and four military police officers from the Federal District (5.33% of the population) took part in the work, 85 women (14%) and 485 men (79.9%). The age ranged from 22 to 57 years (M= 37.49, SD = 11.27) and time in the duty was between 2 and 32 years (M = 15.62, SD = 9.06). Of these, 47 were officers (7.8%) and 466 privates (76.8%). The results were confirmed regarding the validity of the three instruments, especially the Self Image and Compassionate Goals Scale, which went through ranslation and adaptation phases Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), proving its equivalence for use in the Brazilian context; correlations between three variables were tested and, finally, it was observed the predictive power of Human Values into Organizational Commitment, as well as partial mediation of the Goals of Self-image and Compassion in relationship. The main limitations of the study are related to the sample, and suggestions for future research relate to the improvement of the Self-Image and Compassionate Goals Scale to its use in Brazil, and an inclusion of new variables that improve the explanation of the phenomena in question
