Esta investigación tiene como objetivo general analizar el efecto del aprendizaje de la notación musical, en este caso la partitura y la tablatura, en el compromiso y rendimiento de estudiantes de primaria de un curso básico de guitarra acústica en un colegio de Cusco. Así, se analizó el efecto que tuvieron 7 sesiones de aprendizaje en una muestra de 92 estudiantes que aprendían a tocar guitarra por primera vez y donde se usó la partitura y la tablatura como lenguajes para ejecutar el instrumento. El estudio presenta un diseño cuasiexperimental factorial mixto siendo las variables independientes la partitura y la tablatura como condición de notación musical y el pre y post – test como condición de tiempo. Las variables dependientes son el constructo de compromiso y rendimiento. Los resultados del ANOVA de dos vías mixto señalan, en el caso del compromiso, que no se cumplió la hipótesis de que la tablatura, a diferencia de la partitura, aumente el compromiso de los estudiantes. En el caso del rendimiento, la hipótesis de que la tablatura aumenta el rendimiento de los estudiantes de guitarra en contraste con su contraparte la partitura, se cumplió. A partir de esto, los resultados se discuten a la luz de investigaciones teóricas y empíricas sobre el compromiso y el rendimiento. En la parte final de esta investigación, se indican algunas recomendaciones para el estudio posterior de ambos constructos en el marco de la enseñanza de la guitarra. / The general objective of this research is to analyze the effect of learning musical notation, in this case sheet music and tablature, on the engagement and performance of primary school students in a basic acoustic guitar course at a school in Cusco. Thus, the effect that 7 learning sessions had on a sample of 92 students who were learning to play the guitar for the first time and where sheet music and tablature were used as languages to play the instrument was analyzed. The study presents a mixed factorial quasi-experimental design, the independent variables being score and tablature as musical notation conditions and pre and post-tests as time conditions. The dependent variables are the construct of engagement and performance. The results of the two-way mixed ANOVA indicate, in the case of engagement, that the hypothesis that tablature, unlike sheet music, increases student engagement was not fulfilled. In the case of performance, the hypothesis that tablature increases the performance of guitar students in contrast to its counterpart, sheet music, was fulfilled. From this, the results are discussed based in theoretical and empirical research on engagement and performance. In the final part of this research, some recommendations are indicated for the further study of both constructs within the framework of teaching the guitar.
