O processo pelo qual os indivíduos e as suas famílias constituem seu lugar para morar é o cerne da nossa análise. Perante a intervenção estatal que reduziu suas casas a um valor em dinheiro, as famílias teceram múltiplas estratégias para reestruturarem suas vidas diante dos recursos disponíveis. Nesse contexto desencadeador de diversas inseguranças, veremos como o significado dado a suas casas é ampliado através de um emaranhado de elementos que compõe as nuances da moradia. As redes de vizinhança, a intimidade com o bairro, os vínculos familiares e o sentimento de afeto pela casa são alguns componentes significativos na construção dessa composição. Nossa investigação antropológica é baseada na abordagem dos métodos qualitativos através da realização de entrevistas, trabalho de campo, engajamento no Comitê Popular da Copa a favor dos direitos da população afetada e pesquisa documental. Grandes projetos de investimento impactam a situação de moradia da população local de diversas maneiras. Quando estão vinculados a megaeventos esportivos, uma concatenação de fatores acarreta em grandes projetos com consequências danosas ainda mais profundas para as pessoas que habitam o local. As pessoas e famílias buscam formas de ressignificar a moradia nos novos espaços diante dos contratempos da presença de um estado gerador de insegurança. / This dissertation aims to shed light on the meaning of “moradia” (place of living) given by families who lived in the Loteamento São Francisco neighborhood, located in the city of Camaragibe. Those families had their houses demolished in order to make way for the large investment project associated with the 2014 World Cup. The process by which these individuals and their families establish their place of living is the focus of our analysis. Faced with a state intervention that reduced their family homes to an amount of money, these families employed multiple strategies to restructure their lives using the resources available to them. In light of this insecurity-triggering environment, we will see how the meaning the families gave to their homes is expressed through a web of elements which make up the nuances of the home as a place of living. The neighborhood networks, familiarity with the neighborhood itself, family ties and the sense of affection for the home are some of the significant elements which are included in this composition. Our research is based on the use of qualitative methods using interviews, field work, engagement with the Comitê Popular da Copa for the rights of the affected population, as well as documentary research. Large investment projects impact the living conditions of the local population in various manners. When these projects are linked to mega sporting events, a concatenation of factors lead to even more profoundly adverse effects on the local people. Individuals and families seek ways to restructure their lives and living spaces despite being faced with an environment which generates insecurity.
