Kitron had wishes to be able to test and measure how disturbance affects their vehicle electronic units before they have been verified by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in Borås. This work started with the writing of a demand specification together with Kitron for a product PSQS, Power Supply Quality Simulator, which can generate some test pulses according to a standard for electronic units to Volvos vehicles. A design proposal was developed with the help the demand specification and was verified with the help of simulations. All electric schematics was designed with the guide of the design proposal. The pulses realized in the works of this thesis are those which Kitron experienced that they have a need to test in their own premises and which are possible to generate with the means available. All work took place at Kitron in Jönköping, the restriction of the work has been the cost of components not to be to high as well as the finished product shall be easily managed. This thesis work resulted in a unit which is possible to produce a number of disturbances on the voltage feed to a unit under test. Some pulses have not been completely correct according to Volvos standard. There are large possibilities to further develop PSQS to a unit that follows Volvos standard and even other vehicle producer’s standards.

This thesis is a study of the starting system and its components. Theories for each component are presented and models are derived for a complete starting system. Focus lies on the battery and starter motor. The purpose of the modelling work is to gain knowledge of the starting system. Some results can also be obtained from the simulations - it is very important to keep the electrical resistance as low as possible and the differences between battery types are surprisingly big.</p>

La théorie du champ moyen relativiste s'est imposée depuis quelques années comme l'une des plus prometteuses pour la description des noyaux atomiques. Néanmoins, de nombreuses approximations sont faites dans cette approche, qui ne sont pas toutes contrôlées de façon rigoureuse. Aussi avons-nous préféré développer un formalisme un peu différent, qui repose sur une paramétrisation des potentiels nucléaires, et qui présente de nombreux avantages (simplicité, fiabilité, liens avec la théorie des groupes de spineurs, etc.). Cette approche a permis de mettre en lumière, pour la première fois, la non-univocité du potentiel spin-orbite (y compris dans le cas non-relativiste), et l'influence de la masse effective sur les propriétés à un corps des noyaux atomiques. Notre but étant également d'obtenir un hamiltonien réellement performant pour tous les cas rencontrés habituellement en structure du noyau, l'accent a été mis sur la détermination la plus rigoureuse possible des meilleurs paramètres possibles des potentiels, faite au moyen d'une minimisation multi-dimensionnelle dans l'espace des paramètres, et les résultats montrent une excellente stabilité. Dans les noyaux sphériques, la description des propriétés à une particule (notamment la position des niveaux individuels) est souvent meilleure que dans toutes les approches concurrentes. Dans les noyaux déformés, il semble que l'approche relativiste soit la clef de la compréhension profonde du concept d'inertie pour les noyaux atomiques. Quelques applications supplémentaires ont été explorées : notamment, il est apparu que la structure en couches des états nucléaires présentait de larges "gaps" pour des déformations octupolaires correspondant à une symétrie tétrahédrale. Ces gaps sont une caractéristique constante des noyaux, des plus légers jusqu'aux éléments super-lourds. Nos premiers calculs suggèrent ainsi que ces derniers pourraient se stabiliser dans une forme tétraédrale plutôt que sphérique.

Com o objetivo de ampliar o conhecimento da estrutura dos núcleos duplamente ímpares da região de massa A = 130- 140, foram medidos os estados de spin elevado do ANTIPOT. 138 Pr, que se aproxima da camada fechada N = 82, através de técnicas de espectroscopia y em linha utilizando a reação ANTPOT. 128 Te (ANTIPOT. 14 N,4ny). Pela primeira vez, três bandas rotacionais foram observadas neste núcleo. Uma análise teórica da sistemática desta região foi feita com base nos modelos de \"Cranking Shell Model\" e \"Projected Shell Model\". De um modo geral, uma boa concordância foi obtida entre os resultados experimentais e teóricos. O primeiro modelo indica a coexistência de formas no ANTIPOT. 138 Pr (N=79}, enquanto o segundo sugere forma unicamente oblata. Por outro lado, os dois modelos prevêm uma transição de forma de prolato (N = 73) para oblato (N = 79) passando por uma região de triaxialidade em torno de N = 77. / With the view of extending the systematics of the odd-odd, A = 130 - 140 mass region nuclei towards the N =82 closed shell, high spin states in 138Pr nucleus have been investigated with the 128 Te(l4N,4n7) reaction, using on-line 7-ray spectroscopy techniques. A theoretical analysis of the mass region A = 130 - 140 was carried out with the Cranking Shell Model and the Projected Shell Model. Generally speaking, a good agreement was obtained between the experimental and the theoretical results. The first model indicates a shape coexistence in the 138 Pr (N =79) nucleus, while the second one shows an oblate shape. On the other hand, both models suggest a shape transition from prolate (N=73) to oblate (N=79) passing through a triaxial region around N=77.
