Critical Success Factors of Operating Performance Study for Listed Electronic Companies in Taiwan

Wu, Chun-Hian 02 July 2002 (has links)
The study examines the critical success factors(CSF) of Operating Performance for the listed electronic companies in Taiwan. The listed electronic companies were divided into the higher/lower operating performance groups by financial indexes, then there are three questionnaires designed in order to get a better understanding on recognition of critical success factors and doing of critical success factors by top management. Five dimensions of CSFS are identified¡Gcapability in process and marketing, design and planning, R&D and brand, manufacturing and low-cost, technical support and raw materials support. Using statistical analysis approaches such as factor analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA¡Athe results of the study as follows¡G 1. There are significant differences on the two dimensions of recognition of critical success factors: design and planning, manufacturing and low-cost, between the higher/lower operating performance firms. According to the recognitions of the higher operating performance firms OEM and ODM are key points for critical success factors. 2. There are significant differences on the three dimensions of doing of critical success factors¡Gprocess and marketing, design and planning, R&D and brand between the higher/lower operating performance firms. The higher operating performance firms focus on add-value field (process and marketing, design and planning, R&D and brand). The higher operating performance firms take risk of marketing and R&D than those of the lower operating performance firms, therefore the higher operating performance firms get better performances. 3 (1) Comparing recognition of critical success factors with doing of critical success factors, the study find two dimensions of process and marketing, design and planning are significant differences for all of firms. In other words they should make improvements of two dimensions to keep up with the lead firms all over the world. (2) The higher operating performance firms should establish independent technique capability to avert the foreign firms from technique control. (3) The lower operating performance firms should focus on capability of R&D and brand. but, in fact, there is no strong evidence that the paradigm of the listed electronic companies in Taiwan.

Study of Taipower Load Characteristics and Its Impact to the System Fault Critical Clearing Time

Chen, Yi-Kuang 29 June 2003 (has links)
A systematic procedure is proposed in this thesis to study the effect of temperature change to the power system load demand by using the typical load patterns of customer classes. The billing data of all service customers are retrieved to derive the daily load profile of the selected Taipower district. To verify the accuracy of the estimated load composition, the simulation results are compared to the actual load profile collected by the SCADA system. The sensitivity analysis of load demand with respect to the temperature change for each customer class is performed by statistic regression according to the actual customer power consumption and temperature data. With temperature rise, the load contribution by each customer class is updated by the corresponding temperature sensitivity and integrated together to form the new load profile of the service district. To investigate the effect of customer load characteristics to system stability, the equivalent circuit of Taipower 345 KV network is created. With the integration of the load composition by load survey study and temperature sensitivity of customer load, the load demand of each load bus is derived. For fault contingency of system buses, the transient stability analysis has performed to determine the critical clearing time under different temperature conditions.

Design and the qualities of craft

Culpepper, Lindsey L. 08 August 2012 (has links)
During my research, I’ve studied craft through various lenses as a way to explore the realm of meaningful experiences within material culture. It is through an understanding of materials and process, through craft, that we may appreciate the value and impact of our material culture. By considering both the object and the systems it exists in, I have clarified my understanding of sustainable material culture. My explorations with reuse materials culminate in utilizing standardized, industrially manufactured parts, which can be found in multiples, to facilitate small batch production of crafted items. These explorations are not about the singular crafted object, but multiple crafted products. Craft, unlike conventional industrial design, accommodates a conversation between material, maker and methods. An understanding of both practical conventions and experimental methods paired with an appreciation for materials and technique, craft is the foundation for thoughtful making. The convergence of design and craft is rich territory for developing sensible and purposeful objects that are truthful and valuable. / text

The Asian American voice: a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach to rap lyrics

Ko, Wing-shum., 高穎森. January 2011 (has links)
Rapping has long been used by people who are from the margin of society as a way to give a voice (Campbell, 2005; Ibrahim, 1999). As a member of the marginalized group and as the first and only Asian who claimed a seven-time victory on Freestyle Friday on Black Entertainment Television (BET), Jin Au-Yeung has received a noticeable amount of attention. At the same time, he has faced a lot of unfavourable experience as an Asian rapper in American society. This study employs Fairclough’s (1989) model of CDA approach to find out how Jin constructs his identity and establishes his ideology through his lyrics, and how his construction of identity and establishment of ideology reflect the social practice in American society. Fifteen songs written by Jin were chosen for the analysis according to the three interrelated stages in CDA: description, interpretation and explanation. Results show that Jin constructs his personal identities as a professional rapper and as a Chinese American and establishes his ideology of having one human nation despite the difference in races through his rap lyrics. These are achieved through the co-occurrence of “I” and “to be”, and promoted through the use of rhyming and code-switching. It was also interpreted that Jin’s personal identities and ideology are shaped through the social ideology on Asian Americans, which is probably reflected through the social practice in American society. / published_or_final_version / Applied English Studies / Master / Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics
