High Temperature Effect On Resistance Of Timber Structures / Aukštos temperatūros poveikis medinių konstrukcijų laikomajai galiai

The present dissertation and its main subjects inquires into the pine and oak timber strength property changes-temperature relations. It also explores the behaviour of slender timber elements in axial compression at higher temperatures; and the comparative analysis of obtained results. The work seeks to accomplish the following major tasks: to obtain test data about the influence of high temperature on the properties of different natural – pine and oak – timber; to investigate the behaviour of slender timber elements under axial compression exposed to fire. Taking into account the investigated real fire effect to correct accordingly the existing in LST EN 1995-1-2 procedure for the fire resistance calculation of timber slender elements in compression. The dissertation consists of an introduction, five chapters, general conclusions, a list of references, a list of author’s publications on the dissertation subject, and 2 Annexes. Chapter 1 provides a literature review. It focuses on the publications inquiring into the loss of strength properties by timber at higher temperatures, the fire resistance of timber structures in compression. The chapter ends with the formulation of conclusions and the adjustment of research tasks. Chapter 2 offers the methodology of the research on strength properties of timber at higher temperatures, and the schemes of the developed testing equipment. [to full text] / Disertacijoje nagrinėjami pušinės ir ąžuolinės medienos stipruminių savybių pokyčių temperatūriniai sąryšiai bei medinių centriškai gniuždomų liaunų elementų elgsena veikiant aukštesnėms temperatūroms. Pagrindiniai tyrimo objektai yra Lietuvos spygliuočių ir lapuočių medienos savybių pokyčiai didėjant temperatūrai ir centriškai gniuždomų liaunų medinių elementų elgsenos veikiant kaitrai eksperimentiniai tyrimai bei rezultatų lyginamoji analizė. Darbe spręsti tokie pagrindiniai uždaviniai: gauti eksperimentinius duomenis apie aukštos temperatūros poveikį skirtingos natūralios – pušinės ir ąžuolinės – medienos savybėms, atlikti centriškai gniuždomų liaunų medinių elementų elgsenos ugnyje tyrimus. Atsižvelgiant į tyrinėtą tikrovišką gaisro poveikį patikslinti esamą EN 1995-1-2 medinių liaunų gniuždomų elementų atsparumo ugniai skaičiavimo metodiką. Disertaciją sudaro įvadas, penki skyriai, bendrosios išvados, naudotos literatūros ir autoriaus publikacijų disertacijos tema sąrašai ir du priedai. Pirmasis skyrius skirtas literatūros apžvalgai. Jame pateikta darbų, kuriuose nagrinėjamas aukštesnės temperatūros veikiamos medienos, stipruminių savybių mažėjimas ir kuriuose pateikiami gaisro sąlygomis gniuždomų medinių elementų laikomosios galios tyrimų rezultatai. Pabaigoje formuluotos išvados ir disertacijos tikslai ir uždaviniai. Searching for Simple Symmetric Venn Diagrams

An n-Venn diagram is defined as a collection of n finitely intersecting closed curves dividing the plane into 2^n distinct regions, where each region is in the interior of a unique subset of the curves. A Venn diagram is simple if at most two curves intersect at any point, and it is monotone if it has some embedding on the plane in which all curves are convex. An n-Venn diagram has n-fold rotational symmetry if a rotation of 180 degrees about a centre point in the plane leaves the diagram unchanged, up to a relabeling of the curves. It has been known that rotationally symmetric Venn diagrams could exist only if the number of curves is prime. Moreover, non-simple Venn diagrams with rotational symmetry have been proven to exist for any prime number of curves. However, the largest prime for which a simple rotationally symmetric Venn diagram was known prior to this, was 7. In this thesis, we are concerned with generating simple monotone Venn diagrams, especially those that have some type(s) of symmetry. Several representations of these diagrams are introduced and different backtracking search algorithms are provided based on these representations. Using these algorithms we show that there are 39,020 non-isomorphic simple monotone 6-Venn diagrams in total. In the case of drawing Venn diagrams on a sphere, we prove that there exists a simple symmetric n-Venn diagram, for any n >= 6, with the following set(s) of isometries : (a) a 4-fold rotational symmetry about the polar axis, together with an additional involutional symmetry about an axis through the equator, or (b) an involutional symmetry about the polar axis together with two reflectional symmetries about orthogonal planes that intersect at the polar axis. Finally, we introduce a new type of symmetry of Venn diagrams which leads us to the discovery of the first simple rotationally symmetric Venn diagrams of 11 and 13 curves. / Graduate / 0984 / Khalegh@GMail.com

Uppsatsen behandlar bullerdämpning vid kap på ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB i Åseda. Problemen med ljudnivån beror bland annat på stomljudet som alstras av kapen i de långa profilerna. För att sänka ljudnivån har fastklampningskonstruktioner tagits fram som dämpar stomljudet och förslag på vidare åtgärder rapporterats. Försök och jämförande mätningar av ljudnivån har utförts för att få ett bra underlag att utvärdera. Resultaten av försöken med viskoelastisk plast som dämpelement visar en viss dämpning. Dämpningen kan med all sannolikhet bli större med användning av tjockare dämpelement. / This project is about noise reduction of a cross cut saw at ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB, Åseda. The problems with the sound level depend on the structure-borne sound that generates in the long profiles. To lower the sound level have press clamp constructions been developed which reduce and further attends have been suggested. Attempts and comperative measurings of the sound level have been evaluated. The results of the comperative measurings with viscoelastic plastic as damping element display certain damping. The damping can in all probability become larger using a thicker damping element.

Optimalizace předúpravy povrchu oceli a hliníkové slitiny pro následnou aplikaci práškové barvy / Optimization of surface pretreatment of steel and aluminum alloy for subsequent application of powder paint

This diploma thesis deals with various procedures of surface pretreatment of steel and aluminum alloy for subsequent application of powder coating substance. The work begins with an overview of the general characteristics of the materials used. The core part of the work is then a summary of the individual methods of pretreatment that can be used to modify the material surface. A special chapter is devoted to methodologies for the application of powder substances. Before separate application, the sample must first be carefully pretreated to ensure removal of organic compounds (e.g. oils from primary processing - grinding, cutting), or dust impurities to ensure the correct barrier effect. After dividing the individual methods of surface preparation, a powder paint system with a total thickness of approximately 50 µm is applied to the test material. Samples with different surface pretreatments will be compared both in terms of mechanical properties and in terms of electrochemical properties.
