The first hypothesis proposes that the body must have acquired permission to exist in Christian churches through dance and the Christian dance groups proliferated so much that eventually there is a need to import the format of festivals and exhibitions. To this sums up a sub-hypothesis that dance is an adaptive strategy of Puritan conservative discourse, a result of gospel culture derived from neoliberalism. In this context, it has become essential to produce images of the body for dissemination in media outlets. The object of this research is the role of dance in transforming the image of the Christian Protestant body and the dissemination of the new image in the media and the changes in communication mechanisms in both church and society. This research, of theoretical and practical nature, joined both bibliographical and work on the field, watching the group Gospel Group Free to Dance, Gospel Group Free to Dance, Ministry of Dance of the Reborn in Christ Church from Osasco, Gospel Dance Festival Abba Dance 2013 and III Seminar Marks of the Dance Widening Tents, realized in Maua. A collection of promotional material was also gathered with dance groups from other Protestant churches in order to determine possible identity of the singularities within the diversity environment. The literature review focused mainly on Corpomídia Theory KATZ & GREINER, which proposes the body in co-dependence with the environment, and with it, read the body transformation undergone by the Christian body in progress. Once the image becomes central to this investigation, the study of DAMASIO on the concept of image as a synonym of mapping, done by the brain on patterns external to it. To understand what is here identified as ‗Christian body , collaborated CUNHA; GOMES; MENDONÇA; MENDONÇA & VELASQUES FILHO; and ALVES. Finally to investigate the expression of dance in evangelical churches contributed COIMBRA; and GUALBERTO / Nas últimas décadas, evidencia-se em algumas comunidades cristãs um fenômeno bastante curioso, que tem se intensificado e diz respeito a uma profunda transformação na imagem do corpo dos cristãos evangélicos. A primeira hipótese propõe que o corpo deve ter adquirido permissão para existir nas igrejas cristãs através da dança e que os grupos de dança cristã proliferaram tanto que foi necessário importar o formato de festivais e mostras. A ela se agrega a subhipótese de que a dança é uma estratégia adaptativa do discurso puritano conservador em decorrência da cultura gospel e oriunda do neoliberalismo. Nesse contexto, tornou-se indispensável produzir imagens desse corpo para divulgação em diversas mídias. O objeto desta pesquisa é o papel da dança na transformação da imagem do corpo cristão protestante e como a divulgação dessa nova imagem, nas mídias altera os mecanismos de comunicação na igreja e na sociedade. De natureza teórico-prática, este estudo uniu revisão videográfica e pesquisa de campo, ao acompanhar o Grupo de Dança Gospel ―Livres para Dançar‖, o Ministério de Dança da Igreja Renascer em Cristo de Osasco, o Festival de Dança Gospel ―Abba Dance 2013‖ e o III Seminário ―Marcas de Dança Alargando Tendas‖, realizado em Mauá. Uma coleta de material de divulgação foi realizada também com grupos de dança de outras igrejas protestantes, de modo a investigar possíveis singularidades identitárias dentro da diversidade desse ambiente. A revisão bibliográfica centrou-se, sobretudo, na Teoria Corpomídia KATZ & GREINER, que propõem o corpo em co-dependência com o ambiente para, com ela, ler a transformação da imagem do corpo cristão em curso. Uma vez que a imagem torna-se central para esta investigação, foi também convocado o estudo de DAMÁSIO sobre o conceito de imagem como sinônimo de mapeamento realizado pelo cérebro de padrões que estão fora dele. Para compreender o que aqui se identifica como ‗corpo cristão , colaboraram outros estudioso CUNHA; MENDONÇA; MENDONÇA & VELASQUES FILHO; GOMES; e ALVES.
