INTERACTIVE ANALYSIS AND DISPLAY SYSTEM (IADS)

International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 20-23, 2003 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / The Interactive Analysis and Display System (IADS) provides the test engineer with enhanced test-data processing, management and display capabilities necessary to perform critical data monitoring in near real-time during a test mission. The IADS provides enhanced situational awareness through a display capability designed to increase the confidence of the engineer in making clearance decisions within a Mission Control Room (MCR) environment. The engineer achieves this confidence level through IADS’ real-time display capability (every data point) and simultaneous near real-time processing capability consisting of both time and frequency domain analyses. The system displays real-time data while performing interactive and automated near real-time analyses; alerting the engineer when displayed data exceed predefined threshold limits. The IADS provides a post-test capability at the engineer’s project area desktop, with a user interface common with the real-time system. The IADS promotes teamwork by allowing engineers to share data and test results during a mission and in the post-test environment. The IADS was originally developed for the government’s premier flight test programs. IADS has set the standard for MCR advancements in data acquisition and monitoring and is currently being integrated into all the existing MCR disciplines.

DataProbe was the brainchild of the Unites States Navy and its contractors. At a time when computer terminals were expensive and graphical visualization of data was cutting edge, this software product was specifically designed to process time-series data in an efficient manner. The primary strength of DataProbe is the capability to read specific data items for specific time slices from very large data files rather than reading the entire data file into memory. The efficiency and versatility of the product was quickly noted, and it gained widespread use within the testing community. This paper presents a brief history of the legacy product and discusses the features and strengths of new implementation.

BBN has developed a data analysis software architecture for use in distributed- and parallel-processing environments which is particularly well-suited for telemetry streams. BBN is currently using this software at two Navy sites to do realtime data analysis. The architecture provides data-source management, data-stream fusion, and data extraction all in a modular, scalable framework. Because of the scalable nature of the software, it can easily accommodate high data rates.

Uniform Access to Signal Data in a Distributed Heterogeneous Computing Environment

The data can be stored in a variety of ways, from simple disk and tape files to a sophisticated relational database system. The variety of storage techniques requires the data analysis system to be aware of the details of how the data may be accessed (e.g., file formats, SQL statements, BBN/Probe commands, etc.). The problem is much worse in a network of heterogeneous machines; besides the details of each storage method, the analysis system must handle the details of network access, and may have to translate data from one vendor format to another as it moves from machine to machine. This paper describes a simple and powerful software interface to telemetry data in a distributed heterogeneous networking environment, and how that interface is being used in a diagnostic expert system. In this case, the interface connects the expert system, running on a Sun UNIX machine, with the data on a VAX/VMS machine. The interface exists as a small subroutine library that can be linked into a variety of data analysis systems. The interface insulates the expert system from all details of data access, providing transparent access to data across the network. A further benefit of this approach is that the data source itself can be a sophisticated data analysis system that may perform some processing of the data, again transparently to the user of the interface. The interface subroutine library can be readily applied to a wide variety of data analysis applications.

Title: Vessel segmentation Author: Ján Dupej Department / Institute: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor of the master thesis: RNDr. Josef Pelikán, KSVI Abstract: In this thesis we researched some of the blood vessed segmentation and visualization techniques currently available for angiography on CT data. We then designed, implemented and tested a system that allows both semi-automatic and automatic vessel segmentation and visualization. For vessel segmantation and tracking we used a region-growing algorithm that we overhauled with several heuristics and combined with centerline detection. We then automated this algorithm by automatic seed generation. The visualization part is accomplished with an adaptation of the well-known straightened CPR method that we enhanced so that it visualizes the whole cross-section of the blood vessel, instead of just one line of it. Furthermore, we used the Bishop frame to maintain minimal twist of the curve-local coordinate system along the whole vessel. Keywords: vessel segmentation, medical data analysis, volume data

The thesis describes several means of processing statistical data in the ambience of Linked Data and is in particular focused on the utilization of Data Cube Vocabulary metaformat. Its content offers a description of tools related to analysis and visualization of RDF data not only from the statistical view. An indivisible part of this work is the depiction of the Payola tool on whose development is the author still working on. The outcome of this thesis is mainly proposal and consequential implementation of the system that enables a conversion of RDF data in compliance with the DCV vocabularies. The designed system was implemented and integrated to the Payola application. Several other extensions of the system were also implemented by the author. Within the scope of the implementation process there are mentioned also limitations arising from the integration with Payola.
