Con el propósito de comprender la violencia contra las mujeres desde la mirada de las y los adolescentes en una escuela pública de Lima Metropolitana, se propone estudiar este fenómeno desde la perspectiva de la teoría de las representaciones sociales propuesta por Serge Moscovici. Para ello, se administró una entrevista semi-estructurada a adolescentes entre las edades de 14 a 16 años de edad de 3er año de secundaria. El abordaje del estudio fue de tipo cualitativo que sigue un método fenomenológico. Entre los hallazgos principales tenemos que las y los participantes representan la violencia contra la mujer como golpes, gritos, violación, acoso, sexualización del cuerpo, feminicidios, muerte. Asimismo, sobre los ejes que dan cuenta al contenido y que organizan las representaciones sobre la violencia contra la mujer, se tiene como base a los estereotipos de género, estilos de crianza, una sociedad y autoridades poco comprometidas en la lucha contra la violencia hacia la mujer; donde se integran aspectos relacionales y afectivos que acompañan a este fenómeno. En la misma línea, las explicaciones de la violencia contra las mujeres remiten a las relaciones de poder asimétricas basadas en la construcción de género, familias machistas, y la percepción de agentes sociales que fomentan el continuar de esta conducta. Sin embargo, también se halló un discurso a favor de la protección de la mujer, y que desde la escuela se ven acciones o estrategias de acción frente a estos casos. Se propone que el abordaje frente a esta problemática requiere el actuar en los distintos aspectos considerados por los participantes. / With the aim of understanding violence against women from the perspective of adolescents in a public school in Lima Metropolitan, the study of this phenomenon is proposed from the perspective of the theory of social representations proposed by Serge Moscovici. To achieve that goal, a semi-structured interview was administered to adolescents between the ages of 14 and 16 in the third year of secondary school. The approach of the study was of a qualitative that follows a phenomenological method. Among the main findings we have that the participants represent violence against women such as beating, shouting, rape, harassment, sexualisation of the body, femicide, death. Also, on the axes that give account of the content and that organise the representations on violence against women are based on gender stereotypes, upbringing styles, a society and authorities that are not very committed to the fight against violence against women; where relational and affective aspects that accompany this phenomenon are integrated. In the same way, explanations of violence against women refer to asymmetrical power relations based on gender construction, macho families, and the perception of social agents who encourage the continuation of this behaviour. However, a discourse in favour of the protection of women was also found, and that from the school one can see actions or strategies of action against these cases. It is proposed that the approach to this problem requires action in the different aspects considered by the participants.
