Testování polovodičových detektorů pro projekt ATLAS Upgrade / Tests of Semiconductor Detectors for ATLAS Upgrade

Sýkora, Martin January 2017 (has links)
This thesis is focused on beta source tests of prototypes of ITk Strip modules at IPNP in Prague in the framework of the ATLAS Upgrade project. New expe- rimental apparatus will allow comparison of beta source test results with other testing methods including laser or test beam. I participated in the assembly of the whole apparatus, script development for a number of automated measurements using specialized ITSDAQ software and ROOT. Finally, summary of obtained properties of tested end-cap R0 DAQload with mini sensor is provided based on beta source tests and characterization of the readout chip. The resulting collec- ted charge value corresponds to 3.1 fC and together with often referred quantity signal-to-noise ratio, which equals 35, it is one of the most important results of the thesis. The experimental arrangement including overall analysis of results will be usable for the future production phase of the project. 1

Drásal, Zbyněk January 2014 (has links)
Title: Measurement of Time-Dependent CP Violation in B0 → ηcK0 S at Belle Experi- ment, Optimization Studies of the Belle II Vertex Detector Author: Zbyněk Drásal Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics Supervisor: Dr. Zdeněk Doležal, IPNP Supervisor's e-mail address: Zdenek.Dolezal@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: This doctoral thesis deals with two independent topics. In the first part we present a measurement of branching ratio(s) and time-dependent CP violation parame- ters in B0 (B± ) → ηcK0 S(K± ), ηc → p¯p. The values of CP violation parameters have been found as follows: sin 2φ1, denoted as an SCP parameter, equals: SCP = 0.68+0.38 −0.46±0.13syst, the direct CP violation parameter, denoted as an ACP , is: ACP = 0.00+0.23 −0.31 ± 0.08syst. These results have been obtained with the final data sample of 772×106 B ¯B pairs collected at Υ(4S) resonance with a Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e− asymmetric collider machine in Japan. In the second part, we present our approach to the Monte Carlo (MC) simula- tion of Belle II vertex detector and its response to high energy particles. Belle II represents an upgrade of current Belle experiment and its designed vertex detector will consist of 2 layers of Depfet pixel detectors (PXD) and 4 layers of double-sided silicon micro-strip detectors (SVD). The MC...

Stanovení charakteristik cyklostacionárního detektoru signálu OFDM. / Assignment of the OFDM signal cyclostationary detector behaviour.

Lehocký, Jiří January 2012 (has links)
Master’s thesis belongs to the Cognitive radio network sphere. These networks utilize frequency spectrum more effectively than networks used in present radio communications. The Cognitive radio concept makes coexistence of classic and cognitive radio networks possible. Attention is aimed at spectrum sensing as the key task of the Cognitive radio. Main properties of the cyclostationary detector, as the detector, that reaches high probability of the detection at a very low signal to noise ratio with apriori knowledge of the transmitted signal's cyclic frequency, are examined in this paper. The OFDM signals, that inherit cyclostationarity from cyclic prefix, used in the real systems have been chosen for testing the properties of the detector. The influences of decimation and multipath propagation on the probability of detection are quantitatively expressed. The optimal values for the weights of the multicycle detector are determined.
