Etika v podnikání / Ethics in business

Novotná, Tereza January 2011 (has links)
This thesis presents a contribution to exploration of the business ethics area from the psychological point of view with focus on multidisciplinary character of the subject. The empirical part brings mapping study describing the implementation of the business ethics management system and its impacts on the employees' approaches using example of the specific company. The thesis tries to capture which company functions and operations are covered by the code of ethics, what steps and process were taken when implementing the code, if the implementation of the code influenced employees' approaches and relation to the employer and if the implementation of the code influenced the ways how employees solved their moral dilemmas. The qualitative research part of the thesis uses semi-structured interviews, company documents analysis and observation.

Důvěra v mezinárodních vztazích: Případová studie transatlantické spolupráce v oblasti bezpečnosti / Trust in International Relations: Case study of transatlantic cooperation in the security sphere

Doleželová, Sabina January 2020 (has links)
The realm of trust has of late become the subject of a new agenda of research. Withal, as this paper demonstrates, trust has always implicitly been at the core of international relations theory. The object of the research is the transatlantic relationship and the role that trust plays on the field of security, using NATO as the platform. In this connection, at first, the author considers the category of trust in international relations as a whole. A detailed analysis of the phenomenon of trust, its principles and distinctive signs will be conducted. For the further application of the theoretical findings to the case of transatlantic relations, special methodology as exploratory research is elaborated. It develops a multiframework strategy for recognizing signals of trust in a relationship, emphasizing the role of the security dilemma, hedging strategies and reassurance in this manner. The selected research methods are determined by the theoretical basis and the available data for the research. Taking stock of the history of transatlantic relations on the basis of researching literature and using the research findings of the case study, the author estimates the level of trust between the United States and European NATO members during periods of turmoil. The aim is to reveal the causes of such state of...

Rakety a radary jako bezpečnostní dilema: případ třetího pilíře americké protiraketové obrany ve střední Evropě / Missiles and Radars as Security Dilemma The Case of the Third Pillar of the U.S. Missile Defence in Central Europe

Kantor, Lukáš January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with the former Bush's plan of the so-called third pillar of the American missile defense system in Poland and Czech republic. We demonstrate on this topic the value of several key (neo)realist theoretical concepts. Specifically, the exact types and functioning of security dilemmas are analyzed in the framework of American-Russian, American-Iranian and American-Czech/Polish relations. The thesis also illustrates the importance of related modalities of deterrence and shows, which states and how balanced the US. In addition to that, attention is paid to the question whether the "shield" was motivated by defensive realist worries about security or rather by offensive realist struggle for power and gains at the expense of others.

Hernoteoreticke modelovanie prostredia medzinarodnych vzt'ahov / Game Theoretic Modelling of the International Relations System

Halás, Matúš January 2011 (has links)
The thesis models interactions in the system of states. Fundamental research question asked what consequences for success of strategies and prospects of cooperative behavior have particular settings and properties of the system. Thesis includes two features peculiar to international relations that did not appear anywhere else before: (i) determination of interaction occurrence with help of distance and power; and (ii) emergence of (dis)trust out of the previous interactions. The model is based on three elements: agents, environment, and rules. Players interacted in the Hobbesian Prisoner's Dilemma environment as described by realists, but thanks to payoff shift representing emergence of (dis)trust I also formalized constructivist argument of different cultures of anarchy and of mutually constitutive agent-structure relationship. Multi-agent computer simulations set within the abductive reasoning framework were chosen because lack of heterogeneous enough data and impossibility of experiments made this data generating method a necessity. The source code is written in C#. I translated 62 Axelrod's behavioral rules and then added several others that seemed promising. Three new strategies mirroring usual behavior of states were proposed too. To secure robustness of the results, application was run...

Experimentos em simulações paralelas do Dilema do Prisioneiro com n jogadores. / Experiments in parallel simulations of the n-player Prisoner\'s Dilemma.

Macedo, Diego de Queiroz 24 August 2011 (has links)
The n-Player Prisoners Dilemma is a problem that illustrates the difficulty of cooperation formation in societies composed of rational individuals. Several studies were made to better understand the factors that influence the emergence and evolution of cooperation in these societies. Many of these showed that the simulation of this type of problem lacks scalability, which hinders the achievement of experiments involving a large number of agents or test parameters. This work intends to apply parallel computing concepts to treat this problem. To this end, it was developed a system called PS2 E2 , an evolution of a previous work, whose utilization in some scenarios allowed the verification of the influence of some parameters such as the population size and the expressiveness of the strategy representation model in the global utility of a society of agents that play the n-Player Prisoner Dilemma.

Etické kodexy ve světle současné tlumočnické praxe / Codes of Ethics in the Ligth of Current Interpreting Practice

Jirkovská, Markéta January 2019 (has links)
The topic of the present thesis is professional ethics in interpreting. The thesis consists of two main parts - a theoretical part and empirical research. The theoretical part first defines ethics in terms of philosophy and introduces some key subject- related concepts. Subsequently, it focuses on professional ethics and characterizes the main documents that set out desirable standards of conduct within a certain profession - codes of ethics and codes of conduct. This general introduction is then followed by an overview of research into ethics in interpreting studies, and a brief outline of the history of codes of ethics for interpreters. The following chapters discuss ethical challenges in different interpreting settings and briefly introduce major Czech and foreign professional organizations of interpreters. The core of the theoretical part compares ten selected codes of ethics of different Czech and international professional interpreters organizations; based on this comparison, basic rights and obligations of interpreters are identified and further analysed in the empirical part. The empirical part of the thesis presents and discusses the results of a questionnaire survey focusing on selected topics of interpreting ethics discussed in the theoretical part. The aim of the survey, which was...

Thus, to influence coopera-tion and, therefore, to get engagement and high performance from employees has been a major challenge for employers and leaders in companies. In this sense, this dissertation aims to investigate cooperatives and/or deserters (non-cooperative) de-cisions regarding to the binomial reward-performance between employee and em-ployer, within the organizational context, through Game Theory applied to a study of multiple cases, in an adapted version of the Prisoner's Dilemma. The survey, con-ducted with ten employees of an industry, showed that over the last seven years there was no complete congruence and reciprocity between performance delivered by the employee to the employer and the reward given by the employer to the em-ployee. These results reinforce the premise that not all decisions regarding the re-ward and performance take into account past decisions and no seek to maximize results. Consequently, high performance is not reinforced and perpetuated, and in the same way the poor performance finds conditions for spreading. Finally, these re-search findings allowed reflect on what policies and practices can be adopted to achieve cooperation, engagement, high performance and a best collective result / Vínculo e cooperação entre empregador e empregado têm sido afetados pelo ambi-ente organizacional que enfatiza resultados de curto prazo.
