O percurso investigativo proporcionou compreender o contexto que deu origem ao projeto na emissora; demonstrar a importância do acervo de registros audiovisuais da TVE como fonte de pesquisa acadêmica; e, por fim, realizar uma abordagem teórica sobre questões conceituais chaves para o debate sobre a cultura popular. Por meio de entrevistas, captação de relatos orais, pesquisa bibliográfica, observações diretas da realidade, decupagem e análise detida de gravações audiovisuais confirma-se a força do imaginário e do patrimônio simbólico e material presente em festas e folguedos populares da Bahia. / The present work initiates academic reflection on a televised experience of a journalistic nature, produced by TV Educativa of Bahia, that is the TV series Bahia Singular e Plural. Its investigative course has led us to understand the context that gave rise to this project at the TV station, has demonstrated the importance of TVE’s archives of audiovisual material as a source for academic research and, finally, has formed a theoretical approach to key conceptual questions for the debate about popular culture. Through interviews, the relating of spoken tales, bibliographical research, direct observations of reality and analysis made from audiovisual recordings, the force of the imaginary as well as the material and symbolic heritage that exists in the popular celebrations in Bahia is confirmed.
