This master's thesis is focused on conducting a performance evaluation of a particular company using the EFQM Excellence Model. The theoretical section of this thesis introduces the primary theoretical basis for company performance measurement with a focus on the EFQM Model of Excellence. The analytical section contains an evaluation of the selected company‘s current situation using the Excellence Model's methodology to identify weaknesses. The output from the analysis is then used in the subsequent section of the thesis, where these weaknesses are transformed into suggestions for improving the company's performance so it can proceed further on its path to excellence.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the performance of the company BRA-VUR, a.s. using the START Model, based on the EFQM Excellence Model. The theoretical part of the thesis defines quality, performance, and company performance measurement methods. The content of the analytical section is to evaluate the current situation in the company using the START Model and selected financial analysis indicators. The results of this assessment are used in the final part of the work, which is to propose measures to improve the performance of the company and to shift forward on its way to excellence.

This master thesis is focused on performance evaluation of company AGRI CS a.s., namely the evaluation of financial and business performance using benchmarking. The theoretical part deals with some approaches and methods suitable for the company performance evaluation with an emphasis on benchmarking. The main part however is in-depth case study on business performances of selected company. The core part is financial performance benchmarking based on public data from financial annual accounts. For this purpose I use database Amadeus. I analyzed most of the performance indicators for an average of industry branch as well as for 14 most intense competitors. Final remarks of the thesis discuss the main findings and conclusions of the whole performance analysis. On top of that I present possible recommendations for the selected company in order to enhance or even eliminate identified weaknesses.

The research sought to investigate the Critical Excellence Factors (CEFs) that drive
Excellence in banking industry. Moreover, it examines whether customers perceive
the service of an excellent bank differently from a less-excellent bank.
Three hypotheses were formed then tested through case study and survey strategy
(triangulation), within the Saudi banking industry context. The study combines the
EFQM excellence model as an internal assessment tool (case studies), with the
SERVQUAL gap model for external assessment (questionnaires). Analysing and
contrasting the two sets of results allowed the study to achieve its main objective.
Based on the empirical work, the study identifies several CEFs that must be carefully
considered when driving excellence in banking. These factors were proposed in a
generic integrated model for driving Excellence in Banking.

Tyrimo objektas – veiklos vertinimas taikant kokybės vadybos metodus.
Darbo tikslas – įvertinti BĮ „Jonavos rajono savivaldybės kūno kultūros ir sporto centras“ vykdomą veiklą bei jos gerinimo galimybes taikant kokybės vadybos metodus.
Darbo uždaviniai:
1. Išanalizuoti EFQM verslo tobulumo ir Malcolmo Baldrige‘o modelius.
2. Atskleisti EFQM tobulumo ir Malcolmo Baldrige‘o modelių pritaikomumo galimybes organizacijoje.
3. Įvertinti BĮ „Jonavos rajono savivaldybės kūno kultūros ir sporto centras“ organizacijos veiklą panaudojant kokybės vadybos metodus.
Išvados:
1. Išanalizavus EFQM ir Malcolmo Baldrige‘o modelius, remiantis skirtingų autorių vertinimu, galim teigti, kad tai yra modeliai, kuriuose geriausiai praktiškai pritaikyti visuotinės kokybės vadybos principai. Organizacijos, naudodamos šiuo modelius gali įvertinti savo veiklą ir nustatyti gerinimo galimybes. Šie modeliai gali būti traktuojami kaip visuotinės kokybės vadybos principų pritaikymo instrukcija, todėl labai svarbu gerai juos žinoti ir sugebėti pritaikyti kasdieninėje įmonės veikloje.
2. Palyginus EFQM ir Malcolmo Baldrige‘o modelius gauti rezultatai parodė, kad išsamesniam organizacijos veiklos vertinimui tikslingiau naudoti EFQM tobulumo modelį.
3. Atlikus tyrimą BĮ „Jonavos rajono savivaldybės kūno kultūros ir sporto centras“ organizacijoje ir joje pritaikius pasirinktą EFQM tobulumo modelį paaiškėjo, kad organizacija vykdo savo veiklą efektyviai, o gerėjantys rezultatai parodo, kad organizacijos veiklos... Study object – activity assessment using quality management techniques.
Aim of the study: to assess the budgetary institutions “Jonava district physical education and sports center” activities and possibilities of its improvement using quality management techniques.
Objectives:
1. To analyze the EFQM business excellence and Malcolm Baldrige'o models.
2. To expose the EFQM excellence and Malcolm Baldrige'o models applicability opportunities in the organization.
3. To rate the budgetary institutions “Jonava district physical education and sports center” organizations in the use of quality management techniques.
Conclusions:
1. The analysis of the EFQM and Malcolm Baldrige'o models based on the evaluation of different authors, we can say that this is the model for the best practical application of total quality management principles. Using these models organizations can assess their performance and identify improvement opportunities. These models can be seen as a total quality management principles application instruction, so it's important for them to know and be able to adapt the company's daily activities.
2. Compared EFQM and Malcolm Baldrige'o models, results showed that a more comprehensive assessment of the organization's more appropriate to use the EFQM Excellence Model.

Theoretical part deals with strategic analysis, company performance measuring methods, and financial analysis indicators. The practical part first evaluates RENATEX’s business environment and then, it provides a comparison of the company with selected competitors. While still using benchmarking methods, next phase of the thesis compares operational and financial indicators, services and products in offer, their quality, and implemented business strategies. Present highly competitive environment has significantly contributed to the state in which success of entrepreneurial subjects is conditioned among others by their ability to identify and eliminate gaps in their performance as fast as possible. It is inevitably connected with the necessity to know the firm itself, which is one of the unexceptionable condition of reaching and maintaining competitiveness. The dissertation thesis reacts to above shown fact and to generally perceived want of suitable methodology of organizational self-assessment aimed at improvement for small and middle enterprises. The issue of organizational self-assessment is analyzed and assessed complexly in this dissertation thesis. Also less known connections and relationships as to the issue of organizational self-assessment are given here, which provides a desirable comprehensive view. In the dissertation thesis there are also specified relevant definitions relating to the subject of the dissertation thesis. The definitions are specified in mutual relationships, which increases their value in light of their contribution both to theory and to practice. In relation to the analysis of the present state in the sphere of organizational self-assessment, the dissertation thesis introduces the most spread and best known models used for organizational self-assessment. A very important part of the analytical part is created by the determination of basic approaches to organizational self-assessment with closer specification of diagnostically oriented self-assessment. A pivotal part of the dissertation thesis is represented by my own draft of the methodology of organizational self-assessment aimed at formation and maintenance of competitiveness. This methodology is based on diagnostically oriented organizational self-assessment and is intended above all for small and middle manufacturing enterprises that are certified according to the ISO 9001/2000 standard. Submitted methodology was verified with positive result in a middle manufacturing enterprise. The methodology itself is based on a frame model and on an algorithm that should facilitate the implementation and regular realization of the organizational self-assessment.

The final issue deals with the introduction of Quality Management Systems in Central Bohemian high schools. The theoretical part describes principles of the Quality Management and more closely presents ISO 9001 standard, EFQM Excellence Model, CAF Model and CQAF Model. The research part determines opinion of school headmasters in Decree No 15/2005 Coll., that specifies requirements for the obligatory self-evaluation of schools. In next chapters through a survey and an analysis of school web pages is examined practice of Quality Management Systems implementation in high schools in Central Bohemia -- current status, awareness of head masters, demand and expectations. The last chapter offers a definite experience with the introduction of Quality Management Systems through additional interviews with school headmasters.
