The thesis is focused on the consequences of the global economic crisis on the German Port of Hamburg with link to the Czech Republic. The port and its importance is introduced in the theoretical part of the thesis. The following part describes the impact of the crisis on the maritime sector and how it influenced German economy. The main goal of this thesis is to identify and analyze the key external and internal factors which were affecting performance of the Port of Hamburg during the economic crisis. Emphasis is placed on the economic situation of individual states, which use Hamburg for their international maritime transport as well as on the relevant competitive interactions between European ports. Last but not least, attention is paid to the management of the port.

The aim of the thesis Tourism in Spain in Time of Economic and Debt Crisis is to evaluate the development of tourism in Spain and to define the role of this sector in the context of economic crisis by which the country has been strongly affected in recent years. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the economic profile of the country, the second part deals with the characteristics of tourism in Spain and the third part is a case study of Andalusia, which is an autonomous region of Spain most affected by the crisis. This part involves the introduction of Andalusia as an important tourist destination, evaluation of tourism as a major pillar of Andalusian economy and SWOT analysis of Andalusia which is based on all the findings. In conclusion, the author presents her suggestions regarding the development of tourism in Spain and the use of its unfulfilled potential.

The subject of this theses is the sector of creative industries a its behaviour at the time of economic crisis. The theses presents teories that study creative industries and its existing conclusions, while putting into contrast different views on the premise that creative industries are the source of economic growth and employment. Creative industries have been so far studied only during the time of prosperity, however, the 2008 economic crisis enables us to study them during recession. The analytic part of this theses is therefore dedicated to studying the economy of Great Britain, and on the basis of three economic indexes describes the behaviour of the creative industries during the crisis and immediately thereafter. The theses concludes that the creative industries indeed experienced growth, however, it also points out the limitations of all existing studies, including this one.

This diploma thesis analyses trends of foreign direct investment flows in developing countries during the period from 2000 to 2012. It emphasizes on changes caused by global economic crisis in 2008. First chapter is dedicated to theoretical characteristics of FDI and its impact on host economy. The second chapter describes FDI flows from 2000 to 2007, both from global point of view and in particular developing regions. Third chapter is focused on analysis of economic crisis impact on FDI flows and description of trends in developing countries occured as a result of crisis.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to analyse the Swiss economy at the beginning of the third millennium, while the main emphasis is put on period since 2007, when the world economic crisis started on the finacial markets of United States of America and then spread to other parts of the globalized world. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the fundamental geographic, demographic, political, historical and economic facts about Switzerland. The second chapter explores the Swiss economy on the basis of main macroeconomical indicators as gross domestic product, inflation rate and rate of unemployment. There is also analyse of the balance of payments, the foreign trade and the international investment position of the country. The third chapter concludes the thesis with detailed description of the crisis and its effects on the Swiss economy and with futures prospects.

The objective of diploma thesis is to define specific groups of population, defined by sex, age or education, which are represented disproportionately in comparison of whole population of Czech Republic. In the thesis is described the population structure in terms of demography and economy, as well as factors which influence the labor market from short-term and long-term point of view. To achieve all marked out objectives is made explanatory statistics for unemployment of specified groups of population and the index analysis that allows to examine the inter-annual development of unemployment rate in terms of age, sex and education. Based on the index analysis are defined critical groups, which are evaluated by proportionality among unemployed persons. The analysis showed that critical groups are considered young people with lower level of education and women with high school education or women 30-39 years old.

Daňové příjmy obcí v době hospodářské krize / Municipal tax revenues in times of economic crisis

This master's thesis addresses the impact of the economic crisis on the finances of selected municipalities. The first chapter provides a theoretical basis for the analysis. The basic types of municipal revenue are characterized here, main attention was paid to tax related revenues. In short it also defines the budget expenditure side of a municipality. The second chapter deals in general with the negative influence of economic situation on municipalities in the Czech Republic. The practical part of this thesis contains an analysis of the management of finances of selected municipalities Hlavatec, Sedlce and Dřítně between years 2008 - 2010. The analysis shows that the economic crisis was reflected particularly in the drop in tax revenues. However, none of the municipalities ran into financial problems due to the substiantial amounts of funds accumulated from previous years, and all were also able to meet their due financial obligations.

In the first part of my diploma thesis I analyze the reasons of the world economic crisis and I characterize Spanish economy. In the second part the reasons of Spanish economic crisis are analyzed with the focus on the main problems of the country, such as debt, rigid labor market, concentration on construction industry and real estate market. In the third part I describe the impacts of the crisis on the Spanish employment, external trade and I specify the measures and reforms which have been adopted by the new Spanish government. In the last part I try to find out whether the Spanish crisis has had some influence on business relations with Czech Republic and in which area this influence is visible. I also outline how the future relations between Czech Republic and Spain could look like.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the impact of the current economic cycle of South Moravian Region in comparison with other regions of the Czech Republic. I describe in the theoretical part the formation and position of the regions within public administration and regional policy and its funding. I analyze in detail the budget classification, the structure and the principle of management regions. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of the state budget and the budgetary designation of taxes. I analyze in detail various components of income and expenditure of South Moravian Region in 2006--2011. In conclusion, based on the budget balance, the regional debt and other economic indicators, I do a comparison of developments and trends in this region with other regions of the Czech Republic.

Aktuální problémy vývoje eurozóny se zaměřením na mezinárodní obchod / Current problems of eurozone with focus on international trade

This thesis examines current problems in eurozone with special focus on international trade. An important part of the research will be the impact of the economic crisis which came to Europe in 2008. First chapter describes the development of eurozone's exports and imports between years 2001 and 2011. It analyses changes and trends in the commodity and territorial structure of eurozone's foreign trade. Some important issues which are linked to these topics are discussed in the first chapter as well, including current bargaining for bilateral free trade agreements. Second chapter deals with macroeconomic imbalances between the northern and the southern part of eurozone. It tries to identify reasons which caused this problem and assesses the role of euro in it. Finally, it offers some possible ways to adjustment between the both country groups. Third chapter concerns with the competitiveness of eurozone's members and measures how it has changed since the beginning of the crisis. In the second part of this chapter, selected weaknesses of the Italian competitiveness are stated together with a comparison with Germany. Final summary recapitulates previous chapters and presents the most important findings.
