Previous issue date: 2016-08-04 / This study aimed to understand the on going transformation process of the professional and
technological education (EPT), starting from the experience of the Instituto Federal de
Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Goiano, related to expression of the reality in campus Ceres
and Rio Verde. This research analyzed the configuration of federal EPT network field in IF
Goiano reality, taking into account the policy context of creation and constitution of the
Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia through understanding the tensions and
power struggles (material and symbolic)that occur on relationship between average level /
technical and high level. The guiding questions were: How the subfield / upper level
appreciation would have disqualified the average - technical level, expressing no more a
whole which led the struggle for high school integrated into education and that resulted in the
conquest of Decree 5.154 / 04? To what extent, disputes between middle - technical and
higher levels and disagreements present in the institutional priorities are the privileging of the
second and undervaluation of the first? Organizing elements of the professional education
field have been raised within the institution toward the tension between the subfield mid-level
/ technical and subfield higher level, the habitus of the agents that make up the studied social
field and the meanings attributed to the field by teachers and managers about implementation
of the institutes, in relation to the proposals for both levels. In order to meet the proposed
goals, this institution transformation by Law No. 11,892 / 2008 was taken as reference. This
law is related to creation of federal institutions and the context of its enactment arising from
the expansion of the EPT federal network. As theoretical and methodological basis, it was
used the praxeological method of Pierre Bourdieu, in which the theoretical concepts symbolic
power, social field, habitus and practice are relevant to understand the reality. In this
direction, an exploratory survey of the social locus to be studied was done, by using
references and study of legal requirements and documents that govern the institution.
Empirical research was conducted through a survey of numerical data and interviews with
social workers teachers and managers of selected campus, besides rector and pro-rectors. Data
collection allowed you to identify that IF Goiano educational and scientific field has elements,
principles, properties and habitus which point to the contradictions and present agreements on
the relationship between education levels analyzed. Teachers and managers from campi Ceres
and Rio Verde were interviewed, including 6 managers of the central management of the
Institute, rector and pro-rectors, in addition to two general directors of campi. Among total of
teachers from each campus, 121 come from Rio Verde and 93 come from Ceres. 10% each,
were interviewed that is, twelve from Rio Verde and ten from Ceres.The results related to this
study show that, although legislation into both levels have their rules and guidelines to follow
and according to that, the allocation of resources that caters to each, there was a trend toward
greater appreciation of the subfield / higher level characterized by the dispute among teachers
in relation to a largest workload aimed at research activities, which somehow favors the work
at this level, strengthening the practice in higher education and post graduation, parallel to the
devaluation of the subfield / medium - technical level. This struggle is part of the
representation of teachers and managers, demonstrated in symbolic power that is present in
different habitus and practices which demonstrate that the subfield / higher level gives more
status and prestige both the teachers and the students. It also highlights the sense present
among field agents, which is the vertical integration as the way to the articulation among
education levels toward the reduction of tensions among them. / Este estudo teve o propósito de compreender o processo em curso de transformação do campo
da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (EPT), a partir da experiência do Instituto Federal de
Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Goiano, na expressão da realidade dos campi Ceres e Rio
Verde. Neste trabalho foi analisada a configuração do campo da Rede Federal de EPT na
realidade do IF Goiano, no contexto da política de criação e constituição dos Institutos
Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia por meio da compreensão das tensões e disputas
de poder (material e simbólico) existentes na relação entre os níveis médio/técnico e superior.
As perguntas orientadoras foram: Como a valorização do subcampo/nível superior teria
chegado ao ponto de desqualificar o nível médio/técnico, passando a expressar não mais uma
totalidade que levou à luta pelo ensino médio integrado à educação profissional e que resultou
na conquista do Decreto 5.154/04? Até que ponto as disputas entre os níveis médio/técnico e
superior e os desacordos presentes nas prioridades institucionais passam pelo privilegiamento
do segundo e secundarização do primeiro?Foram levantados os elementos organizadores do
campo da educação profissional dentro da instituição, na direção da tensão entre o subcampo
nível médio/técnico e o subcampo nível superior, os habitus dos agentes que conformam o
campo social estudado e os sentidos atribuídos ao campo pelos professores e gestores acerca
da implantação dos institutos, com relação às propostas para os dois níveis. Para atender aos
objetivos propostos, tomou-se como referência a transformação dessa instituição por meio da
Lei nº 11.892/2008, de criação dos institutos federais e o contexto de sua promulgação
advindo da expansão da Rede Federal de EPT. Como fundamentação teórico-metodológica,
buscou-se o método praxiológico de Pierre Bourdieu, no qual os conceitos teóricos poder
simbólico, campo social, habitus e prática são centrais para a compreensão da realidade.
Nessa direção, foi feito um levantamento exploratório do lócus social a ser estudado, por meio
de referências bibliográficas e do estudo das prescrições legais e dos documentos que regem a
instituição. A investigação empírica foi realizada pelo levantamento de dados numéricos e de
entrevistas com os agentes sociais professores e gestores dos campi selecionados, além do
reitor e pró-reitores. A coleta de dados permitiu identificar que o campo educacional e
científico do IF Goiano apresenta elementos, princípios, propriedades e habitus que apontam
para as contradições e acordos presentes na relação entre os níveis de ensino analisados. Os
agentes entrevistados foram professores e gestores dos campi Ceres e Rio Verde, sendo 6
gestores da gestão central do Instituto, reitor e pró-reitores, além dos 2 diretores-gerais
dos campi. Do total de professores de cada campus, 121 de Rio Verde e 93 de Ceres, foram
entrevistados 10% de cada um, ou seja, 12 de Rio Verde e 10 de Ceres. Os resultados
encontrados nesta pesquisa apontam que, apesar de na legislação ambos os níveis terem suas
normas e diretrizes a serem seguidas e, de acordo com isso, a alocação de recursos que atende
a cada um, há uma tendência de maior valorização do subcampo/nível superior, caracterizada
pela disputa entre os agentes-professores em relação à carga horária maior destinada às
atividades de pesquisa, o que de certa forma favorece o trabalho neste nível, fortalecendo a
prática no ensino superior e na pós-graduação, paralelamente à desvalorização do
subcampo/nível médio-técnico. Essa luta faz parte da representação dos professores e
gestores, expressa no poder simbólico presente nos diferentes habitus e práticas que
demonstram que o subcampo/nível superior confere mais status e prestígio, tanto aos docentes
quanto aos alunos. Evidencia-se também o sentido presente entre os agentes do campo, que é
a verticalização como caminho para a articulação entre os níveis de ensino, na direção da
diminuição das tensões entre eles.

The latitudinal tilts of wealth and education in Peru: Testing them, explaining them, and reflecting on them / Los cambios latitudinales de la riqueza y la educación en el Perú: probándolos, explicándolos y su reflejoLeón, Federico R. 10 April 2018 (has links)
Comparisons between countries around the globe reported since 1999 reveal that nations’ wealth consistently increases with distance from the Equator. Is Peru’s territory exempt from this trend? This study used GPS coordinates, questionnaire data, climate files, and census information from the 2000 Peru Demographic and Health Survey, Climate Wizard, and G-Econ data sets toreconcile the contradictory national evidence and understand the role of certain geophysical and social variables. Household assets increase from north to south in the Brack ecological regionswith latitudinal orientation which were studied (Desert, Puna, Yunga, Amazon), especially in rural settings, and as does women’s education, except in the Amazon. Neither temperature nor fourteen other geophysical and social variables account for such effects, though women’s domestic power explains them in the Yunga ecoregion. The findings can be understood through two theoretical perspectives: one, according to the evolutionary theses of Lynn, Rushton, and Kanazawa, suggests the genetic fixation of differential intellectual levels caused by an ancestral adaptation of Peruvian to various conditions of climate and altitude. The other, combining what is known about ultraviolet radiation, vitamin D, and production of sexual hormones with Zajon’sconfluence theory, is defined by fertility rate and the consequent intellectual home environment for the child. Both predict the increment of IQ and educational PISA scores from north to south Peru, but one points toward education and the other to family planning as human development strategies. / Resultados de comparaciones reportadas entre países alrededor del globo desde 1999 indican quela riqueza de las naciones crece consistentemente con la distancia a la línea ecuatorial. ¿Está el territorio peruano exento de esta tendencia? Para reconciliar la contradictoria evidencia nacional y entender el rol de ciertos factores geofísicos y sociales, este estudio utilizó coordenadas GPS, datos de cuestionarios, archivos de clima, e información censal existentes en varias bases de datos(Encuesta Demográfica y de Salud Perú 2000, Climate Wizard, G-Econ). Los activos del hogar crecen de norte a sur en las regiones ecológicas de Brack de orientación latitudinal estudiadas (desierto, puna, yunga, Amazonía), especialmente en ámbitos rurales, y la educación de la mujer lo hace en las tres primeras. Ni la temperatura ni otras 14 variables geofísicas y sociales dan cuenta de los efectos, aunque el poder doméstico de la mujer los explica en la ecoregión Yunga. Los resultados pueden entenderse en dos perspectivas teóricas. Una, acorde con las tesis evolucionistas de Lynn, Rushton y Kanazawa, sugiere la fijación genética de niveles intelectuales diferenciales producidos por una adaptación ancestral de los peruanos a distintas condicionesde clima y altura. La otra, combinando lo que se conoce sobre radiación ultravioleta, vitamina D, y producción de hormonas sexuales con la teoría de la confluencia de Zajonc, se define por la tasa de fertilidad y consecuente ambiente intelectual hogareño para el niño. Ambas predicen el incremento del cociente intelectual y los puntajes educativos PISA del norte al sur peruanos, pero de una se desprende la educación y de la otra la planificación familiar como estrategias promotoras de desarrollo humano.

Previous issue date: 2011-05-13 / This paper presents the results of a survey that aimed to analyze the transition process when
change the administrative level in the current Campus Planaltina/Federal Institute of Brasilia -
IFB. This was the time when that school came out of the administrative government of the
Federal District, where he spent more than two decades, and returned to the Union, because of
the expansion plan of the Federal Network of Professional and Technical Education - Office
of Professional Education and Technology / Ministry of Education, held in the government of
President Lula da Silva, from 2005. We sought to determine whether there was compliance
with current legislation - the Federal Constitution and the Law of Directives and Bases of
National Education, with regard to democratic management of public schools. The analysis
was based on cooking by the academic community, of institutional documents namely:
Curriculum of the Campus Planaltina, the Statute and Institutional Development Plan of the
IFB. Education, power and participation issues were highlighted because of its
interrelationship with democracy. The research instruments used were structured interviews
conducted with teachers, technicians and students involved in the transition process. From the
qualitative data analysis proved that the considered undemocratic actions taken by
management of the IFB, may have been given the difficulty that still is to a people who lived
more than twenty years under a ruthless military dictatorship act democratically, whether
talking with peers (participation) stating whether any points for reasons that require
explanation (transparency), and / or perhaps because our laws still leave gaps for the power to
send some to obtain any personal benefit to override the will of the collective . The research
showed the importance of the struggle for a democratic school, which brings together and
unites people around principles such as justice and equality, which contribute to have a more
fraternal society, showed that this fight must continue so as to achieve an education based on
ethical principles that can guide human conduct and balanced with good social functioning. / Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que teve como objetivo analisar o
processo de transi??o quando da mudan?a de esfera administrativa no atual Campus
Planaltina, do Instituto Federal de Bras?lia ? IFB. Este foi o momento em que esta escola saiu
da esfera administrativa do governo do Distrito Federal, onde esteve por mais de duas
d?cadas, e voltou a pertencer ? Uni?o, devido ao plano de expans?o da Rede Federal de
Educa??o Profissional e Tecnol?gica ? Secretaria de Educa??o Profissional e
Tecnol?gica/Minist?rio da Educa??o, ocorrido no governo do presidente Lula da Silva, a
partir de 2005. Buscou-se verificar se houve acatamento ? legisla??o vigente ? a Constitui??o
Federal e a Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educa??o Nacional, no que se refere ? gest?o
democr?tica da escola p?blica. A an?lise foi feita com base na confec??o, pela comunidade
acad?mica, dos documentos institucionais quais sejam: a Matriz Curricular do Campus
Planaltina, o Estatuto e o Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional do IFB. Educa??o, poder e
participa??o foram temas em destaque devido ao seu interrelacionamento com a democracia.
Os instrumentos de pesquisa utilizados foram entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com
docentes, t?cnicos administrativos e discentes envolvidos no processo de transi??o. A partir
da an?lise qualitativa dos dados comprovou-se que as a??es consideradas antidemocr?ticas
realizadas pela gest?o do IFB, possam ter se dado pela dificuldade que ainda seja para um
povo que viveu mais de vinte anos sob uma cruel ditadura militar agir democraticamente, quer
seja dialogando com seus pares (participa??o) quer seja esclarecendo pontos que por motivos
quaisquer necessitem de explica??o (transpar?ncia), e/ou talvez porque nossa legisla??o ainda
deixe brechas para que o poder de mando de alguns para obter qualquer benef?cio pr?prio se
sobreponha ? vontade da coletividade. A pesquisa mostrou a import?ncia da luta por uma
escola democr?tica, que une e re?ne cidad?os em torno de princ?pios como justi?a e
igualdade, que contribuem para termos uma sociedade mais fraterna; mostrou tamb?m que
esta luta deve continuar para que se consiga uma educa??o baseada em princ?pios ?ticos que
possam nortear a conduta humana equilibradamente e com bom funcionamento social.

As tools for dynamic system modelling both conventional methods such as transfer function or state space representation and modern power flow based methods are available. The latter methods do not depend on energy domain, are able to preserve physical system structures, visualize power conversion or coupling or split, identify power losses or storage, run on conventional software and emphasize the relevance of energy as basic principle of known physical domains. Nevertheless common control structures as well as analysis and design tools may still be applied. Furthermore the generalization of power flow methods as pseudo-power flow provides with a universal tool for any dynamic modelling. The phenomenon of power flow constitutes an up to date education methodology.
