Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Ehler Danlos Syndrom (EDS) är ett komplext kroniskt smärttillstånd som finns i 14 olika varianter. Ett syndrom viktigt för sjuksköterskor att känna till för att kunna ge personer med EDS en god personcentrerad vård. Syfte: Att beskriva upplevelser av att leva med Ehler- Danlos Syndrom. Metod: Studien utfördes som en litteraturstudie med en induktiv ansats där två kvantitativa artiklar och sex kvalitativa artiklar analyserades med hjälp av en innehållsanalys. Resultat: Resultatet baserades på åtta artiklar som tillsammans resulterade i fem kategorier: Upplevelser i samband med familjebildning, upplevelser av smärta och fatigue, upplevelser av begränsningar och brist på förståelse och upplevelser av en låg kunskapsnivå hos hälso- och sjukvården. Resultatet visade på att livet med EDS skapar olika utmaningar och påfrestningar. Det belyste även vikten av utbildning och kunskap kring syndromet. Konklusion och implikation: Att leva med komplikationerna av EDS påverkar individernas livskvalité. Då det finns få studier kring upplevelsen av det dagliga livet med EDS bör framtida forskning vidare undersöka personers upplevelser gällande EDS. / Background: Ehler- Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a complex chronic pain condition that exists in 14 different variants. A syndrome important for nurses to know to provide people with EDS with good person-centred care. Aim: To describe experiences of living with Ehler- Danlos syndrome. Method: The study was conducted as a literature study with an inductive approach where two quantitative articles and six qualitative articles were analysed with the help of a content analysis. Result: The result was based on eight articles that together resulted in five categories: Experiences related to family formation, experiences of pain and fatigue, experiences of limitations and lack of understanding and experiences of a low level of knowledge in healthcare. The results showed that life with EDS creates various challenges and strains. It also highlights the importance of education and knowledge about the syndrome, which in the future may lead to an increased understanding in society. Conclusion: Living with the complications of Ehler-Danlos syndrome affects the quality of life of individuals. Since there are few studies on the experience of daily life with EDS, future research should further investigate individuals’ experiences regarding Ehler-Danlos syndrome.
