The Diploma thesis is focused on the economical competitiveness of Germany in international comparison. The purpose of the thesis is to suggest adopting measures that could improve that existent competitiveness of the Czech Republic recommended on the basis of the ascertained data obtained by the applied analysis on Germany. The theoretical part of the thesis is elaborated by using literature and online sources. The key terms are defined such as competitiveness, competitive advantage and foreign trade following by the methods of competitive rating. In the practical part of the thesis the variables are established on the basis of the competitive rating published by the World Economic Forum. The econometric model of the German competitiveness is created from the ascertained variables. The statistic important variables obtained through the model output are described in detail and compared with the values of the same variables of the Czech Republic. Measures that could lead to improving the current competitiveness of the Czech Republic are recommended on the basis of the ascertained data. The output of this thesis is a recommendation to focused on an export of hi-tech technology and innovations which both can generate high added value. This finding can be applied especially in industry and agriculture.

This master thesis seeks the relationship between religion and economics in the works of some classics of sociology. The goal of this thesis is to find out if and to what extend religion and economy in these classics influence and relate with each other. From sociologists I focused on Max Weber, Karl Marx, Georg Simmel and Werner Sombart. The first chapter deals with sociology of religion and serves as an introduction to the issue religion in sociology. The second chapter concerns with Max Weber, the third chapter is about Karl Marx, the fourth about Georg Simmel and the fifth about Werner Sombart. The sixth chapter is an overview of other sociologists who deal with sociology of religion and in works of which it would be possible and interesting to search for the connection between religion and economics.

The most common economic myths through the prism of liberal economic schools Abstract The thesis analyses the two grand, persisting economic myths - the myth of just price and the myth of immorality of profits, vis-à-vis the work of scholarly economists, mainly of the liberal persuasion. This broad intellectual current of economic thought is represented by the so called Chicago school of economics, represented by Thomas Sowell, and the so called neo- Austrian school of economics, represented by Ludwig von Mises. The second part of the thesis deals with the myth of just price and it`s presence throughout our history, from ancient Babylon to today`s Venezuela. Since it took almost 2000 years for this myth to be dispelled by economic thought, a brief history of such thought has been incorporsted into the thesis, beginning from Aristotle, through Thomas Aquinas to Alfred Marshall. A big part of this brief history is then dedicated to the so called marginal revolution and the effects thereof. The end of the second part of the thesis concerns itself with the thought of liberal economists, whose work was at least partly dedicated to dispelling of the myth of just price and other economic myths. Cílem diplomové je přiblížení problematiky znalostní ekonomiky a s ní související vzdělanost společnosti. Kritériem hodnocení je stávající stav znalostní ekonomiky, která je úzce spjata s historickým vývojem vzdělávání. Předmětem práce bude komparace úrovně a znalosti ve všech ekonomických aktivitách. Součásti práce bude mimo jiné i pohled na znalostní ekonomiku a vzdělávání v mezinárodním kontextu. Dále i zamyšlení nás pojmem znalostní ekonomika, potřeba vzdělávání. Tyto dva pojmy budou dány do souvislosti s problematikou konkurenceschopnosti organizaci a státu. Část práce bude věnována používání Indexu znalostní ekonomiky. Cílem práce bude tedy zhodnocení vlivu znalostní ekonomiky z různých úhlů pohledu.
