Dynamika švédského sociálního státu ve 20. století / Institucional Dynamics of Swedish Welfare State in the 20th Century

Šetele, Adam January 2013 (has links)
In my thesis I focus on the concept of the Swedish welfare state, which many economists consider as a conclusive evidence that an extensive welfare state is fully compatible with a growing and competitive economy. The main hypothesis is that institutions of the welfare state leads in time to a continual pressure on change of overall condition of all social structures, expansion of the public sector, its overuse and increasing inefficiency. I examine a period from about 1850, when Sweden began to rapidly develop until the turn of the 20th and 21st century, when the Swedish welfare state fell into crisis. The hypothesis is verified by using the methodological approach of induction and with theoretical framework of new institutional economics. Findings of my work shows that the success of Swedish welfare state is rather a result of specific institutional factors that were favorable to business environment for most of the modern Swedish history. On contrary, excessive social spending, high taxes and market regulation from the second half of the 20th century made the system unsustainable and pointed to the need of reformation.

After more than 30 years of fast economic development since the Reform and open up to the world in 1978. Chinas socialist market economy is ranked at the worlds second largest economy by nominal GDP. and the worlds largest economy by purchasing power parity according to the IMF today. In spite of the outstanding economic data. China is facing numbers of problems like overcapacity and high financial risk. The goal of this thesis is to dig into the hidden realities behind the fast economic growth of China mainly through analyzing the economic situation after the 2008-09 Chinese economic stimulus plan. which is known asthe 4 trillion RMB (USD 586 billion) stimulus package announced by the State Council of the Peoples Republic of China on 9 November 2008. It is regarded as an attempt to minimize the impact of the global financial crisis on the worlds second largest economy. However. critics of Chinas stimulus package have blamed it for causing a surge in Chinese debt and overcapacity since 2009. particularly among local governments and state-owned enterprises.

Pojetí člověka v ekonomii / A Concept of Man in Economics

Műller, Jan January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis researches model of economic man, its historical background, and also modern critics of this concept and alternative approach to economic man, especially in behavioral economics. Human (im)perfection leads to the discussion about a range of liberty man should get eventually to which extent should a man be led by paternalism. Therefore this thesis introduces and tests concept of libertarian paternalism which is applied to drug issues. The thesis demonstrates that model of economic man is in many ways too simplified and insufficient. Thus, extention of this model with findings of psychology, biology and other sciences seems beneficial. Libertarian paternalism, despite few shortcomings, shows potential to be realisable and viable in certain situations.

Podlipný, Jakub January 2021 (has links)
Title: Dependence of football clubs' market value on their result in selected European competitions Objectives: The main objective is to determine the strength of the relationship between the market value of football clubs and their result in selected European competitions. Another objective is to compare these relationships between individual leagues or groups of leagues (big, medium, small). Methods: Correlation and regression analysis were used for the calculation of the strength of the relationships. Regression analysis showed which of the teams influenced the strength of the relationship with their weaker or stronger performance. Effectivity was also calculated for another option of comparing the teams. Results: As the results show we can observe a certain dependency of the result of the clubs on their market value. In the leagues with weakest relationships (0,562 and 0,565) we can notice a particular influence of uncommon performances by the leaders and underdogs. In other leagues the relationship varies between 0,651 and 0,877, which shows very strong relationship between the market value and achieved result. Effectivity-wise it was observed, that the most effective teams are usually the ones with lower market values and they usually place in the lower half of the table. Whereas the least...
