Analysis of Perceptional Differences Among Department Chairs, Faculty, and Instructors Toward the Barrier to Using Multiple Teaching Strategies in Two-Year Technical and Community College Electronics CoursesHutyra, Jerry Emil 05 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze perceptional differences among department chairs, faculty, and instructors toward the barrier to using multiple teaching strategies in two-year technical and community college electronics courses. The literature review focused on defining multiple teaching strategies and identifying and discussing four major perceived barriers to implementing them in the electronics classroom: student, resources, classroom environmental, and teacher training/teaching technology. The targeted population consisted of 150 out of 231 electronics teaching technical and community college department chairs, faculty, and instructors throughout the state of Texas. In actuality, the targeted population's breakdown consisted of 36 full-time electronics teaching department chairs, 96 full-time electronics teaching faculty and instructors, and 18 part-time electronics teaching faculty and instructors who were actively involved in the delivery of instruction in their respective schools. Analysis of the data revealed that: (1) there are no significant differences among the perceptions of department chair people, faculty, and instructors toward the four perceived barriers to implementing multiple teaching strategies in a post-secondary electronics program; and (2) there are no significant differences in the perceptions electronics faculty members categorized by years teaching experience toward each of the four perceived barrier categories to implementing multiple teaching strategies in a post-secondary electronics program. However, further research is needed to substantiate what other barriers exist that may have an impact upon utilizing multiple teaching strategies in two-year technical and community college electronics courses.

Multi-media method and materials for teaching fundamental understandings of electronic instrumentsBarratt, Steven G. January 1970 (has links)
This creative project consists of the construction of a poly-sensory, self-instructional system. The system includes two basic parts: 1) software, the basic instructional materials, and 2) the hardware, the console to replay the software. The software consists of four programmed slide-tape series and accompanying workbook. The first series deals with the concept of electrical measurement, describes the basic meter movement, and introduces the VOA. The remaining three series deal with the voltmeter, ohmmeter, and ammeter sections of the YO1, respectively. The hardware includes the console, and experimental electrical circuits. The unique aspect of the console is a photo-sensitive relay circuit which controls the cassette recorder. This circuit provides a programmed dimension allowing frequent stops in the presentation for questions, experiments and self-testing.

A study to determine the electricity and electronics curricular needs of the adult education program of the Muncie Community Schools : a creative projectDinsmore, Denis A. January 1970 (has links)
The purpose of this project was to identify the content of a series of electricity and electronics courses which would meet the training needs of the Muncie community and the enrollment of the Muncie Community School's program for adults. To achieve this, it was necessary to determine who the program serves and to determine their training needs. Representative advisory committees were therefore, used to evaluate and recommend course content. Since the study was concerned with the training needs of the whole community, a survey of three different types of electrical and electronic employers was conducted. Thissurvey was conducted by means of a mailed questionnaire.

This research was developed an approach of an electronic remote learning. The approach, predicted that online collaborative experiments in real time, was tested on a pilot course: Operational Amplifiers. The aim of this new approach is to diversify the supply of vocational training in electronics, through the use of E-learning, with synchronous and asynchronous activities. Were selected models of learning, instructional project, production process and evaluation process. The infra-structure environment focus on open source and freeware tools, to meet market demand at competitive cost and enable greater geographical spread as possible. This work, was introduced, in a pioneer manner, perform experiments using computer simulations in a collaborative environment, changing the learning dynamics and creating a new interactive perspective between teacher and students in an effective environment for electronic e-learning. It was observed with this research a feasible way to teach remotely electronic with practical activities interactive and collaborative / Mestrado / Eletrônica, Microeletrônica e Optoeletrônica / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica
