A study to determine the status of the Chico Elementary School and compare it to established norms and standards.

The purpose of this study is three-fold: 1. To make a study of the criteria used in evaluating democracy in the elementary schools. 2. To evaluate how democratic sixteen elementary schools of Hill County are. 3. To offer recommendations for changes that could be made for the improvement of the sixteen elementary schools of Hill County.

The purpose of this study is to determine a sound program for using the community resources of Denison, Texas, to improve the elementary schools of that city.

The purpose of this study is to present the appraisal of the Los Fresnos Elementary School in terms of the criteria in the Handbook for Self-Appraisal and Improvement of Elementary Schools as made by a committee of twelve teachers of that school. The purpose of this study was to make a critical evaluation of the San Saba Elementary School, San Saba, Texas. The strong and weak points of the school were considered, and suggestions were made for improvements where they are needed.

The problem of study is a critical evaluation of the Big Spring, Texas, Elementary Schools using The Handbook for Self-appraisal and Improvement of Elementary Schools published in September, 1945, under the direction of Edgar Ellen Wilson, Director of Elementary Education in Texas. The parts in this evaluation under consideration are the children, the teacher, and the program of school life, eliminating the other headings under which a school may be placed.

The problem with which this investigation is concerned is the identification of conditions, situations, and events that are important problems faced in the public elementary schools of Texas. Problems are categorized into sixteen areas: finance, desegregation and busing, school organization, school personnel, preschool and kindergarten, instructional improvement, reporting systems, pupil behavior, curriculum, in-service staff training, humanizing the schools, public relations, minority groups, migrant children, special education, and recent trends. The purpose of the study is to determine perceived importance of problems and to establish priorities of current issues from information obtained from education leaders of elementary schools.

This study is an evaluatioon of Zavala Elementary School in Austin, Texas in order to determine administration strengths and weaknesses.

The purpose of this study is to appraise the opportunities offered to the pupils of Sam Houston school; to gain experiences through self interests and democratic procedures; to develop procedures which may determine the changes taking place in these boys and girls and thereby enable the writer to discover the degree to which the school is accomplishing its significant educational purposes. Suggestions of criticisms will be incorporated; however, it is not the intended purpose of this study to suggest or criticize.
