It debates the listening of the therapist to the parents speech. The starting point of this work was a bibliographic research; from this research it was raised a historic view, to provide foundation to the discussion of the subject into the speechlanguage pathology environment. It was identified that the theoretical discussion on the position the parents take inside the speech language clinic is defined by the approach of other study fields: Medicin, Psychology and Psychoanalysis. Inadvertent approaches though, once fragments of theoretical discussions and procedures are incorporated by the speech language pathology study, without taking into consideration the specifics of its main function. Considering this argument as a fact, this study made a carefull approach to the psychoanalitic clinic, in order to establish distinctions between language clinic and psychoanalitic clinic, and also point out positions that appeared to be possibly common. Finally, three clinical cases were presented, chosen by the author s interest to the parents interview. The study strove to raise a debate about the function of the interviews and the listening of the language clinic professional to the parents speech, based on a well limited theoretical position. This dissertation was accomplished thanks to the author s insertion into the Grupo de Pesquisa Aquisição, Patologias e Clínica de Linguagem (LAEL/PUCSP-CNPq), coordinated by Profª Dra Maria Francisca Lier-DeVitto e Profª Dra Lúcia Arantes / Esta dissertação trata das entrevistas com pais na clínica de linguagem que envolve o atendimento de crianças, nela coloco em discussão a escuta do clínico para a fala dos pais. O ponto de partida foi um levantamento bibliográfico, a partir dele tracei um breve panorama histórico, para discutir como o tema tem sido tratado na Fonoaudiologia. Constatei que a discussão teórica relativa ao lugar que pais ocupam na clínica fonoaudióloga é caracterizada pelas aproximações a outros campos, a saber: Medicina, Psicologia e Psicanálise. Aproximações inadvertidas, uma vez que fragmentos de discursos teóricos e procedimentos são incorporados pela Fonoaudiologia sem que se considere a especificidade de sua atuação. Após tal constatação, procurei realizar uma aproximação cuidadosa à clínica psicanalítica, para estabelecer distinções entre a clínica de linguagem e psicanalítica e, também, assinalar lugares que surgiram como possibilidade de encontro. Por fim, apresentei três casos clínicos, em que as entrevistas com pais me tocaram de modo especial. Procurei movimentar uma reflexão sobre a função das entrevistas e sobre a escuta do clínico de linguagem para a fala dos pais a partir de uma posição teórica bem delimitada.
