No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2010 / Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar as características do ensino de pós-graduação lato sensu em Saúde Pública e a dinâmica das mudanças curriculares para a formação de especialistas. A pesquisa realizou um estudo de caso do Curso de Especialização em Saúde Pública (CESP) que é considerado um curso histórico e tradicional da Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (ENSP).O resultado do estudo é demonstrado com a seguinte estrutura e conteúdo. Na primeira parte, a trajetória do CESP da ENSP é apresentada até 1990. Esta parte do estudo é feita a partir de cada década do curso com base em análise documental realizada nos arquivos da Secretaria Acadêmica da ENSP. Na segunda parte, foi estudado o curso entre 1990-2006. Além da análise documental também foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com todos os gestores da ENSP e os coordenadores do CESP desse período. O objetivo foi o de estabelecer, na descrição do caso, um elo entre a bibliografia consultada, as entrevistas realizadas e as fontes documentais. Para elaboração do banco de dados dos alunos do curso, foram consultadas as fichas de matrícula existentes na Secretaria Acadêmica.Os resultados e a análise são apresentados nas seguintes categorias: coordenação do curso; alunos do curso; gestão e planejamento curricular do curso; teoria e prática: compatibilidade dos conteúdos do curso com o Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS); perfil de formação de sanitarista especialista ou generalista; relação entre o curso e a pós-graduação stricto sensu e a formação pedagógica dos professores.Nas considerações finais são apresentados alguns aspectos referentes à tese que está sendo defendida: a importância do curso para a formação dos profissionais de saúde pública; as alterações que ocorreram nas características dos alunos; a influência da política de saúde a partir da constituição do SUS no conteúdo do curso e as lições que poderão ser tiradas. / This study aimed to analyze the key features in the teaching of post-graduate lato sensu courses in Public Health as well as the dynamics of curricular changes in the training of specialists in this area. The research took as a case study, the Course of Specialization in Public Health (Curso de Especialização em Saúde Pública-Cesp) which is considered a historical and traditional course of the National School of Public Health (Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública-ENSP). The results of the study are illustrated by the following structure and content. In the first part the trajectory of the Cesp is presented until 1990. In this part of the study the results from each decade of the course are presented on the basis of documental analysis carried out in the archives of the Academic Secretariat of ENSP. In the second part, the period of the course between 1990-2006 was studied. Besides the documental analysis, semi-structured interviews with all ENSP directors and coordinators of the course during this period were also conducted with the aim of establishing, in the case study, a link among the literature consulted, the interviews and documentary sources. Files on student enrollment existing in the Academic Secretariat were consulted in order to develop a database about the students of the course. The results and analysis are presented in the following categories: coordination of the course, students of the course, management and planning of the curriculum of the course; theory and practice: compatibility of the contents of the course with the National Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde-SUS), characteristics of the training of public health professionals – specialist or generalist; the relation between Cesp and post-graduate stricto sensu courses and finally the educational training of the faculty. In the concluding remarks some aspects of the thesis that is being defended are presented such as the importance of the course for the training of public health professionals, the changes that occurred in the characteristics of the students, the influence of health policy on the content of the course since the implementation of the SUS and the lessons that can be learnt.
