Las manifestaciones de una Práctica Médica despersonalizada que promueve tecnificación y mercantilismo, una Educación Médica con orientación curativa – reparativa y una Enseñanza de la Ética sin repercusiones suficientes en su formación; motivaron el presente estudio longitudinal y correlacional para determinar la variación del nivel de conocimientos de Ética en estudiantes de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional “San Luis Gonzaga” de Ica, a través de la aplicación de un Pretest y de un Postest a 132 estudiantes del sexto año luego de un curso de ética médica recién instaurada. Los resultados muestran un nivel bajo de conocimientos (promedio: 8,23) luego del Pre test, y un incremento hasta un nivel medio (promedio: 11,58) luego del desarrollo del Curso de Ética, que se confirma con la correlación Pearson de puntajes pre y postest (0.69, p es menor que 0.05) y la comparación de promedios por medio de la t pareada (10.87, p es menor que 0.01) con significación estadística. Se concluye que la incorporación del curso de Ética al currículo eleva significativamente el nivel de conocimientos básicos de Ética de los estudiantes. / -- The manifestations of a depersonalized Medical Practice that promotes automation and mercantilismo, a Medical Education with curativa direction - reparativa and an Education of the Ethics without sufficient repercussions in its formation; they motivated the present study to determine the variation of the level of knowledge of Ethics in students of the Medicine Faculty of the National University “San Luis Gonzaga” of Ica, through the application of a Pretest and a Postest to 132 students of 6to of year 2005 during the course of a course of medical ethics just restored. The results show to a level under knowledge (average = 8,23) at the Pre test, and an increase until a mean level (average = 11,58) after the development of the Course of Ethics, that confirms with the correlation Pearson of puntajes pre and postest (0,69, p is less than 0,05) and the comparison of averages by means of the twin t (10,87, p is less than 0,01) with statistical meaning.
