A importância deste trabalho encontra suas fundamentações na atual relevância de pesquisas sobre avaliação de impacto de sistemas de informação e na importância dos sistemas CAPP para a indústria de manufatura. A necessidade de avaliar sistemas de informação surgiu de um fenômeno conhecido como paradoxo da produtividade (falta de evidência de retornos para altíssimos investimentos). Já o CAPP é um sistema fundamental na interface de Engenharias e Produções, sendo gerador de informações para toda a empresa. Para a obtenção este objetivo foram realizadas análises de dados colhidos em 11 casos investigados. / The importance of this work meets its foundation both in the nowadays relevance of studies on information systems impact and in the importance of CAPP systems to the manufacturing industry. The necessity of evaluating information systems emerged from a situation known as the productivity paradox (lack of return evidence in despite high investments). Regarding the CAPP, it is a fundamental system to do the interface between the Project and the Production areas, being also a generator of important information to the whole company. To reach these goals, some analysis were carried on data collected from 11 case studies.

This study evaluates the content coverage of Google Scholar and three commercial databases (Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Bibliography of the History of Art and Art Full Text/Art Index Retrospective) on the subject of art history. Each database is tested using a bibliography method and evaluated based on Péter Jacsó’s scope criteria for online databases. Of the 472 articles tested, Google Scholar indexed the smallest number of citations (35%), outshone by the Arts & Humanities Citation Index which covered 73% of the test set. This content evaluation also examines specific aspects of coverage to find that in comparison to the other databases, Google Scholar provides consistent coverage over the time range tested (1975-2008) and considerable access to article abstracts (56%). Google Scholar failed, however, to fully index the most frequently cited art periodical in the test set, the Artforum International. Finally, Google Scholar’s total citation count is inflated by a significant percentage (23%) of articles which include duplicate, triplicate or multiple versions of the same record.

incoming Community and Health Science (CHS) students at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and describes the use of a collaborative framework for integrating information literacy into the undergraduate studentsʹ curriculum and for assessing the results. The Collaborative Information Literacy Model (CILM) provided the guidelines for a more structured and fuller collaboration between the librarian and the lecturer responsible for the first year Physiotherapy students. The collaborative partnership employed strategies to teach information literacy competencies which were significantly more satisfactory with the studentsʹ abilities to successfully complete a research term paper. The process of integration began with developing learning outcomes, an information literacy program, exercises and an assessment instrument for evaluating student performance. Also emphasized is the on-going exchange of expertise between the librarian and the lecturer to enhance library-related components in the design of the program.</p>

The Collaborative Information Literacy Model (CILM) provided the guidelines for a more structured and fuller collaboration between the librarian and the lecturer responsible for the first year Physiotherapy students. The collaborative partnership employed strategies to teach information literacy competencies which were significantly more satisfactory with the studentsʹ abilities to successfully complete a research term paper. The process of integration began with developing learning outcomes, an information literacy program, exercises and an assessment instrument for evaluating student performance. Also emphasized is the on-going exchange of expertise between the librarian and the lecturer to enhance library-related components in the design of the program.</p>

The rapid growth of Science and Technology has made the use of scientific information a problem of international concern. To keep abreast of current research the scientist and engineer can use a multitude of information sources. In this study the problem of information use is analysed and a theoretical framework is developed and applied in several case-studies of formal and informal communication. The case-studies include surveys among scientists, engineers and social scientists in different R&amp;D-settings. Information about research is looked upon as a fundamental resource for R&amp;D activities. It is demonstrated that information use and communication behavior are related to research productivity. However the use of both written and oral information sources is limited by barriers related to the individual user, his position in the social structure of the research community and organisation as well as the availability of information resources. In order to improve the use of knowledge it is necessary to integrate the information and documentation functions with the planning and conduct of research. In this context user education and marketing of information resources are important prerequisites. Information search and library use in higher education are analysed and discussed in relation to pedagogical methods and the maintainance of professional competence. The work is divided in several parts. The introduction describes history of protection of citizens. The thesis also deals with the issue of information systems from the general point of view and also in connection with crisis management. The practical part looks into the used information systems by questionnaire survey. The survey included all municipalities and communes and all Regional offices. The output of the research is a list of used applications. There are shown following data for each application ? frequency of an application, a map of an application according to regions, scale evaluation of an application and pros and cons of an application. The evaluation of the research disproved the hypothesis that regions and municipalities and communes have a proper idea about what kind of information system they should use. The following part of the thesis introduces a software application to support crisis management. It is a functional application designed to keep a record of shelters in the town of Písek.
