Šestiválcový řadový vznětový motor s vypínáním válců / Six-cylinder in-line diesel engine with cylinder deactivation

Novosád, Ivan January 2020 (has links)
Master 's thesis deals with design of a drivetrain of six cylinder inline engine with cylinder deactivation for heavy agricultural vehicles. In this thesis were devised various possibilities of crankshaft balancing, the best design solution of counterweight was based on optimization in software Catia. Further, the crankshaft was analysed for force and momentum loading and torsional vibration, based on which, the torsional vibration damper was designed. There were considered several options for cylinder deactivation, which were analysed for finest run of engine and the best thermal distribution. Based on these criteria, the best option was to deactivate 2nd and 5th cylinder. The crankshaft was analysed for the fatigue failure by finite element method. The fatigue failure is the most dangerous case for the crankshaft, the resulting safety factor for this limit state is 3,05.

Návrh moderního spalovacího motoru konstrukce V8 / Design of Modern V8 Combustion Engine

Šebesta, Radek January 2011 (has links)
Master´s thesis is considered with design and construction of V8 combustion engine with small size and low mass of its body. In the construction were used mass-produced components from the other engines. From every component was generated a 3D model in computer program Pro/Engineer, new necessary parts were made in the same program and put together to assembly. Main part of the construction was to design a new crankshaft, a crankcase and an engine lubricating system. The crankshaft was subjected computing analysis in program Pro/Mechanica, using FEM.

Návrh jeřábu pro obecné použití, pro manipulaci na palubě plavidla / Design of General Service Crane, used for manipulation on the deck of the vessel

Dlužanský, Tomáš January 2011 (has links)
This master's thesis makes a brief comparison of design variants of cranes for general use on the deck of a vessel. Further, this thesis deals with a design of a crane with a telescopic jib and a single knuckle. An important part of the crane’s design is its kinematic solution, which was modified in the design phase. The last step of a simplified analytical calculation of the jib for design steel construction is given. This preliminary calculation is the starting point for a FEM model and for the following FEM analysis. A stress control is made according to the Lloyd's Register of Shipping agency’s standard for lifting appliances in marine environment and also according to the recommendations of Huisman company. A part of the proposed solution is a selection of main components of the crane. The master’s thesis contains a summary of some operational and other information which characterize possibilities of the crane’s use. This thesis also includes source materials for drawing documentation.

Deformačně napěťová analýza stehenní kosti s využitím dat z počítačové tomografie / Stress strain analysis of the femur based on the CT data collection

Nečas, David January 2012 (has links)
The area of clinical biomechanics is a rapidly growing engineering discipline in the world of today. This master's thesis is concerned with the stress-strain analysis of human femoral neck. In the first place it emphasizes the creation of computational model, especially the model of bone material, because of its high level of inhomogeneity. The creation of the computational model has been tested using several software packages, which are often mentioned in connection with the biomechanical tasks. The latter part of the thesis contains finite element method analysis for several material models, which are based on extensive analysis of relations used to transfer the information from computed tomography data to material model properties. Subsequently, the realization of experimental measurement is described. The final part of the thesis contains evaluated results obtained from the FEM analysis, which are also compared with the experiment.

Numerical and experimental study of light-frame shear walls

Maharjan, Rajan, Rachid, Mohamad El January 2019 (has links)
In recent time, some of the construction processes of multi-storey timber buildings are achieved by using prefabricated volume modules since this method is very beneficial due to its high prefabrication level and the fast on-site assembly of the modules. The main structural component of these modules is a light-frame shear wall that stabilizes these modules from the effect of horizontal forces. A shear wall typically consists of timber frame with studs and rails and sheathing panels connected by dowel type fasteners to one or both sides of the frame. The structural behavior of shear wall and its racking performance is controlled by adequate design of its mechanical joints where sheathing-to-framing joints is the key issue in evaluating the overall behavior of shear wall. This study mainly deals with modelling of light-frame shear walls based on linear elastic characteristic for sheathing-to-framing joints. The objective of this study is to create two effective computer-based models (beam-spring-shell and beam-spring-shell-solid) to predict linear behavior of light-frame shear walls. In addition, the study deals with an experimental investigation of various types of short light-frame shear walls. Finally, the study compares modelling and experimental results to verify that they are in good agreement and that an efficient FE model is able to predict the structural behavior of shear walls for a short computational time. The study optimizes use of beam-spring-shell model which is as reliable as the beam-spring-shell-solid model, emphasizing its advantages over the resource-consuming solid model. The beam-spring-shell model is efficient and can be implemented and used for design and analysis of modular-based timber buildings.
